Found some time to check in and catch up.
Great grab at the auction. I love going to them but have trouble holding to a price limit on something that catches my attention and I always buy more things than I went for lol
Your wall is taking shape very quickly (and I like it)
I'll be back
Don
But I do need to find a mount for the old brass fire extinguisher so I can get it hung

Won't be long before you won't even see the OSB at this rate! Just checkin in KUTGW

I decided to pressure wash it today and it cleaned up pretty good, but it is well pitted...I think I will sandblast it then paint it red, it will need a lot of primer. Then I can pick up a chrome center cap for it and just use it as a display piece.
Turned out to be a really good day and buy at $25.00...

For the east wall I scored a Coke menu/chalkboard to go along with the Pepsi chalkboard I already had up...
Great project and lots of interesting work you have completed. Looking forward to seeing more of your skills in DaBarn..
BF, its a 1930 wheel, the same as mine.
Great find.
Regards

Now that you have both Coke and Pepsi, you need a "Take the Pepsi Challenge" sign right between them.
It would be cool to have a Pepsi challenge sign up there...keep your eyes open for one...I have serious barn wood envy. Those are a very rare find around here! AZ wasn't exactly a farming Mecca! Can't wait to see how that grease tub turns out.![]()
Bears Fan,
I just got caught up on your thread.
You have done alot of cool things!
Great job!
My wife was admiring your Vonnegut family find when I showed her this thread the other day. Enough that she said, Kendallville, that's not far. Let's go over and give him $100 for it. Doubt that would happen, but she's into anything Vonnegut.![]()
that is one hell of a well built pole barn! thanks for in depth look at the build, and the info on the spray foam. i inherited a 40x40 with 14 walls when i bought my new house and it is just a shell and i was wondering how much it would be to seal it up with foam and your numbers don't scare me all that much.
BF, the grease gun is sweet. Great score.
No doubt there would be some beautiful timber in that old barn and good to see you have been able to salvage some.
Regards
Great Score on the gas pump!
Can't wait to see what you do with it.![]()
Your doing my head in with all your great scores BF.
Regards

Love the pumpwould look great in a TEXACO theme
congrats!
.....it looks like a old Conoco decal on the front, I do like the yellow, maybe a Shell pump would look good?

Bears Fan,
I was just kidding, I too think the yellow looks fantastic and I think to restore it in it's original CONOCO glory would be a very wise choice.
It's besides TEXACO one of my favorite gas station brands.
The pump restore might be a ways down the road... "there's never enough hours in the day"Hey Bears what a great thread. Love the barn build and the truck.
Are you going to seal the barn slab to protect it a bit and keep the concrete dust at bay ?
You are on fire with some cool old finds there.
Thanks for sharing
Cheers Grumblebum![]()
I got the sandblasting done today and had to shoot some self etching primer on the blasted areas because we have some rain rolling it. Good thing to because it is pretty dry around here right now...

Hi Bears Fan.
I just some time reading from the beginning and what an awesome space! What you have done is really great and will make sure to use some of your ideas in my own space.
My great aunt and uncle moved from Fort Wayne to Kendallville and I went out to see them on the way to South Bend when I was looking at colleges way back. Really nice out there.
Will be following along.
Randy
OK, I will admit when I looked at the first few photos I said - "seriously? this looks like it may be a budget DIY project that might turn out on the bad side of 'good'". WRONG! After going through the complete build I am totally impressed with EVERYTHING. Although this type of construction would never fly here in South Florida it's very well built. Very, very nice build...you have many great talents!
Of course he does, he's a Bears Fan!![]()
