Awesome parts cleaner BF. I can't believe how you keep finding all those treasures. I'm still in awe of your "museum".
Bears: up in the PNW all that stuff might have cost me more than your truck so happy to see you were able to buy it and still own your truck to haul it home.
while i love the look of your shop's walls i don't have the space for those sort of things and need the walls for racks to hold materials and cabinets, but i'm starting to see the benefit of maybe having one wall for just stuff to display.
great finds and any chance you took and can post up a few pictures of the guy's place where you found all of this?
Cool parts cleaner. I have the No-nox version of this pump. I guess when you say you’re just winging it, you won’t be lying. lol

That Cabover tanker is absolutely Fantastic![]()
Picture postcard. Glad it’s up there though. On a positive note, no grass to mow so more time to find treasures.

Your "Lil party garage" looks much bigger from the inside and in there is really shaping up nicely.
Your new additions are super and I'm a little envious of all the Gulf products
I wish I had started collecting when I was your age.

Have a great Christmas

P.S.
I got the price sign hung in the Sinclair station
Thanks again
Every time I walk by it I thank you for it.
BF: yep there are still GREAT PEOPLE IN THE USA and all over the world so don't give up on the human race just yet. I totally understand you not sharing more pictures even if it's only to protect the folks that sold you all those COOL OLD THINGS.
i have to say you have a good eye and keep up the great work.
Is your daughter's car almost ready for her to pick up at Christmas? does she know you are fixing it for her?
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Bears Fan,
Just dropping in to wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

It's been a great year watching the lil party garage grow from the inside out
Thank you for your friendship and generosity
Wishing you and your family A Very Merry Christmas.
Lets do it again next year
Don
This thread is absolutely fantastic! The quality of the garage build, the quality of the memorabilia, the photo quality are all incredible. Love the 2014 Silverado (I have one too), and love the lawn as well! Haha.
Thumbs up and Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas and may the new year bring new finds.
If it keeps up you may have to make room for me down there in Florida, HELL at this point I would stay in your garage! "I will work for heat"
Merry Christmas from your Land of Lincoln neighbor.
Loving all the pictures ...I was born in Hammond so once a Hoosier, always a Hoosier has to apply for me as I always long to visit, party and explore new things and places in the state.
Thank for sharing your adventure...
I always like seeing how the Mustangs are always clean and shinny

Bears Fan,
Great job on the cabinet!![]()
Great Idea, that is marketable i'd think.
I'll second what Jon said.
The photo of you sanding the cabinet pieces outside in the snow is priceless.
Is it too late to wish you a happy new year?
I will anyway...all the best to you and your family for 2018 BF.![]()

Its been a while since I have checked in on your thread (not enough hours in the day), My daughter thought the picture of me was hilarious and said it was Garage Journal worthy![]()
I hope 2018 will be a great year for you and your family

Happy New Year! Fantastic idea and execution on the cabinet. The addition of will make it a very useful addition to Da Barn. I may even have to copy the concept!Jon
Thanks for the compliment! It was a fun project and it wasn't to complicated, just a little time consuming...It gave me something to do with the extra days off at Christmas and New Years...
Rockyboy
Thanks for the visit to DaBarn! Although not perfect I do like how the cabinet turned out! It was fun to be able to do a project even though it has been colder than HELL here

I wish you good health and happiness in 2018...

That's awesome to think someone likes my little barn here in northern Indiana! I think being here on The Garage Journal always gives me a little motivation and always has me thinking of what's next in DaBarn.
Hoping you and your family has a wonderful 2018 and keep posting!!!
BF: while I totally agree with your daughter that your picture in the snow sanding your project is GJ worthy I have to say that all of them are and if you have time to post up pictures and details of your cool stand (i'm going to copy some day i'm pretty sure) over on the Organizing 201 thread i for one would be grateful. here's the link: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=335623
great design and build. WELL DONE!!
also great job being able to pick up your daughter's car from the insurance company and finding the perfect guys to put it back together so she can keep rolling down the highway. you got more than a few DAD OF THE YEAR POINTS for that one.
have a great day and the airplane wing and the other stuff you just recently picked up is looking great in they new home.
cheers
PS: that picture your daughter posted is actually AVATAR WORTHY and brings back memories of the BEARS with their BAD *** BOYS playing football in those kinds of conditions. due for a change?
You haven't missed much on my thread BF, I was AWOL from GJ for a couple of months, so I am way behind on getting up to date with everyone else's threads.
I'll try to curb my wayward ways in 2018.![]()

You can stay in the warm guess bedroom. Just bring the Blazer and take the SL back.

The cabinet looks awesome. You may want to order a spare parts bin, in case someone finds a way to break one. I have had friends in my garage break hinges off little storage boxes, and container got crushed as someone was letting the lift down. Of course, when you have a back up, you will never need it. $5.99 is cheap insurance....
It was crazy cold last week - brave soul sanding in that.
That's totally ******** BF - sanding in the snow.
How about a small lift up wing on the other side so you have a small surface area to work from and somewhere to put your drill(s) when working on a project ?
Cheers GB.

BF, your hardware cabinet is another on my bucket list.
I like your idea of not welding in the casters, its the way to go..
This is my Fabrication bench's
Regards

Speaking of mounting casters, unless you have the fine thread laying around, you can probably use coarse. I was removing the casters of a tall Vidmar cabinet this weekend and they used these nut plates with 3/8” coarse bolts.
The small threaded part is only about 1/16” thick. The cab holds 500# or more.

I'm just now checking in this year 24 days in (MY BAD)
I like the hardware cabinet you have 3 sides to fill not just 2
I'd consider putting it on a turn table and maybe put my battery tools on the back side. I like the idea of a small portable work table with flap.
Oh yeh rather than going south come west. I have a guest wing in the house you could occupy while thawing out (and I could use some help on a few of my projects)
Hope you have a great 2018
Don
