I know nothing about Dayton tools, but that is a really nice looking set - congratulations!

Dayton tools are sold by Grainger. I didn't see them listed currently selling socket sets under the Dayton name. It's one of their house brands. I'm not an expert on ratchets so I don't know the original maker.

Thanks, I'm very happy with the set.

I guess no one recognizes the ratchet.
It has to be made by someone, guess I'll take it apart and see what it looks like inside.

Grainger sells a variety of tools and machines under the Dayton name. This is likely made by one of the better known tool companies as a private label "made in USA" tool. You could probably discover the actual manufacturer with a little research. The mfg would have been in Chicago.

I have a Dayton ratchet set that appears to be made by Bonney. Maybe yours is too, I can't say as I don't recognize the ratchet.

I just grabbed a Dayton socket, 3/8" drive, 13mm, and the stamping/font looks very close to Thorsen sockets I have.
