That seems like a good deal; those are catalog/online only so I cannot vouch for their quality or who the OEM is, they never show up in the store, so, I've never handled them myself. If you end up not liking them your could return them but at that price you could probably make money on ebay for them! :)

I wonder who the OEM is? Let us know how the quality is and if you like them when they show up!

How often do you use snap-ring pliers, considering that all of your ratchets are Snap on and do not use snap-rings.

I'd love to get in on this deal, but I only used my multi-tipped snap ring plier a handful of times. Instead of justifying the purchase to myself, I'll let someone who might need them more to get a set.

Aren't I a nice guy!

Couldn't resist the great price and just ordered a set. I can now put my old Craftsman interchangeable tip ones to rest. Thanks for posting this deal MAD!

...also ordered, thanks! And to think, somewhere today somebody paid that $190 plus from Snap-on for the same thing. Not that I have any immediate need, but for $41.17 taxed and delivered, I'll be ready...

Yesterday these were $60-something and I *almost* ordered them. Today I couldn't resist so I ordered it from a Sears store. I had an old gift card in my wallet that had ten bucks on it too, so I got the set for $23 shipped. Thanks for posting!

I'm pounding my head against my tool box! 3 yrs ago I picked up 4 out of that set from the SO guy and about a year ago I ordered the other 2 plus the case. All together I almost paid the full retail of $199. I think the case alone from SO was almost as much as that set. I wish I had knew about this forum way back then.

On the brighter side, I do like them. They work very well

Dayum bunch of tool polishing tool whores; no more availiable....

Yea, no kidding..... I've been looking for snap ring pliers for a few months now. No more available online and every zip code I live next to, or travel to is out of stock. Man, I hang out in my garage to refurbish my new (severely used) blast cabinet and good stuff like this blows right by......

I have a pair of these, Snap-on branded, .070" 18º tips, and I think they're a pile of ****! The center joint isn't stiff at all, I've had them twist around on me for larger rings. At first I thought it was too small for the job, but these even struggle with smaller rings when the tips barely fit the holes! The smaller ones might work on tiny, weak rings, but the larger one I have is worthless. I reach for my Taiwan Auto-Zone special before this thing! A Knipex set is on my list.

Sorry to bring my pessimism into this thread, I didn't mean to take away from anyone's deal!

But at least they won't be at Snap-on prices!

I won't use them much but when I need them, I just want them to be more useful than the old Channellock replaceable tip ones that I have. Many times they won't get the ring small enough to remove. Last time I did a driveshaft I had to remove the snap rings with needlenose pliers and a screwdriver :wtf:. For $30 they can't be that bad. For $190+ though... :lol_hitti

In any case, for those wondering if it would really happen:

Probably, those suckers got hammered by everyone on this board and they are history, I would assume! Remember, it said "limited quantities"; who knows how many they actually had for sale! They must have had a ton of the SK stuff; those items are still available arn't they?

I got mine a few days ago, too. They work as advertised but I sure can't see paying $200 for them...
