As a sign maker for over 20 years both as an employee and shop owner, I'd strongly advise against putting ANYTHING self-adhesive on your floor! No matter how good a coating you put over it, it will only be as strong as it's weakest link, which in this case will be the adhesive on the vinyl------it never dries and therefore will delaminate eventually, probably sooner rather than later! Even 'high-performance' vinyls from top-rated manufacturers aren't made to be walked on and driven on. Just don't do this!! I'm not running an ad on here, just trying to save you a lot of grief!
Although I've never worked with 'Floorpix', it sounds like a much more sensible and durable option. The only other way I'd do something like this would be the 'old-school' sign painters way----he would paint it with a good lead-based (sorry tree-huggers!) sign paint like One Shot.
Save the vinyl graphics for banners and truck doors----you WILL regret it if you use it on your floor, no matter how bullet-proof the top coating is.
