Last year I bought a set of Milwaukee ShockWave metric impact sockets. The differentiator was the bold white numbers on the side. I always have a hard time reading lettering that's embossed in the material.
I recently bought a set of these my cart, I really like them for the same reason you stated. They're also (what I consider) properly necked down for good access, and every socket I've used so far has fit well. I liked them so much I bought the 1/4" and 1/2" drive sets too. As with most things Milwaukee, I'd only recommend them when they're on sale.Last year I bought a set of Milwaukee ShockWave metric impact sockets. +1 on the Wright'sMy work (a municipality) recently bought a set of Blackhawk impact sockets. I'm impressed. But they are 1/2" drive.
Also, I have an older set of Wright impact sockets that I love. I would give Wright a look.
Try a paint stick to fill in the stamping, makes reading sizes easier for sure.I like the quality of my Sunex sockets but the legends on them are horrible. A tiny stamp and tiny laser etching that wears off basically immediately. The drive end isn't chamfered either which is something I don't like.
if I could do it over again I'd probably still buy the Sunex sockets since there's nothing as good and also CR-MO in the price range. I'm never going to buy a CR-V impact socket. I don't care what anyone says.
