I need to have a look under a bathtub I regretfully had some "come to find out" qwik buck artists install. After what I paid them what's a few more bucks?

the depstech stuff works well. I'd buy one with its' own screen, plugging it into another device is a pain.

I've got a Teslong with its own display, this model.

As others have suggested, an attached display is a plus. I don't have to expose my laptop or smart phone to potential damage from the place I take it into, the USB-C connector receptacle is reinforced on it so it won't break (the camera's cable is intentionally made rather stiff to get it into ductwork and such), I never have to worry about downloading driver upgrades and getting continued support, and with the included SIM card I can still transfer images over to my laptop.

I have a similar one with a 16 foot cable. It works great but the 16 foot cable is overkill, it’s pretty much impossible to snake it down 16 feet unless it is a straight shot.

It [Depstech USB 5.0MP Borescope] works with an app.
Agree, but there is still a USB driver needed for it; likely when you load the app you also load the driver. And if you upgrade your operating system or purchase a new computer, you'll often need updates for both - which the manufacturer may or may not provide. Hewlett-Packard is notorious for not doing this with their older printers, for example.

Agree; I have the 10 foot model. You can only get it around one or maybe two bends in narrow ductwork such as my dust collector system.

And gee right in the link I provided is the app, the download for Android,Apple, or Windows 7-10. I'd bet it works on 11 as well. Or with a smartphone,or a tablet. I'd bet a user could find an interface that works well enough on many devices throughout the modern home and garage. I'm pretty sure the OP isn't gonna drag his desktop PC and monitor into the bathroom/linen closet or basement to inspect his tub.

That's fine if that's what you want to do; more power to you. I'll stick with staying free of PCs, smartphones, drivers, apps, and downloads in general; what I have will always work, and the SIM card in it will always provide me the bridge to transfer images. At least as long as there's USB flash.

I have a Depstech that I bought on Amazon a few years ago for maybe $30. It's a lot longer than I need but the picture is great. Connects to my phone.
