I finally made a top for my cast iron workbench legs. The top is oak I salvged from donnage and is 2 1/4" thick. I probably should make a lower shelf too. This thing is heavy. The big problem I'm having is no where to keep it right now.

Original workbench leg post.

I really like the legs green, but I would paint the vise black. It will look nice with the legs and lamp green but I think with all the same it all just blends and I think you want some pop. If you are a Packers fan or John Deere you can go yellow on the vise.

Too much Green?Maybe....but I'd use it.And given a day in our fabrication shop and its gonna be cover'd with a nice layer of Gray.

Black is a "qualify'er",especially with Green. So If I was really goin Martha(Stewart) on it....just paint the lamp Black.

Yeah,its beggin for a shelf.

You need to pinstripe the lamp. Black strips around the "beads" on it. :)

Where did you find the legs for that bench? Some old factory?
