When it rains it pours. Been busy with life and other **** the last couple of weeks. Prior to all hell breaking loose I tried to clean off some water spots on my chimney. I thought I might be able to get them off without painting it. Nope! the pressure washer ended up taking some brick off on the edges. So it looks like im going to have to paint it.
I went back to work for an unknown duration. But the wife called me and told me she was in an accident. I was able to dip out for the day. Wife was headed up to pick up our oldest for an appointment. She was stopped at a four way. She had the right of way. Proceeded through the intersection when the other party involved decided to go. They hit my wifes car on the front drivers side. Wife wasn't injured however she was sore the next day. The other party was a 19 yr old kid picking up his siblings at the local HS. They weren't hurt.... I was able to pick up the wife at the scene. I took a look at the car. It looked drivable. I opened the hood and saw the radiator was cracked and the motor looked like it was shifted a bit. I thought that was sorta weird for a minor fender bender. Wifes car is a 16 ford explored... paid off
Fast forward today the auto body shop informed my wife that the car will most likely be totaled. They are up to 17k in repairs. Which the insurance company Said the other party is at fault and we dont have to pay anything... ha ha. They gave us a rental car and we dont have to pay a premium. When it comes to the car the mechanic said that the frame rails are bent on both sides. I know the photo doesn't show much. He said ford will not authorize them to straighten the rail which equals a totaled car.... thats paid off. The insurance company stated the other party was now claiming injury. The adjuster said that its bs and not to worry. We get to keep the rental for 10 days after the insurance co gives us a pay out. Its a ****** time to try and buy a car. All the prices are insanely high. Which means no matter how much they give us for the car we re still out of money....
