Delay Off relay or solid state?

My wife has a known issue with her kia (2013 sorento) in that the moisture build up in the evaporator accumulates and causes a pretty strong odor. This i found is because kia apparently doesn't find it worth while running the blower motor after key off for a predetermined period of time to dry it.

My question is regarding a delay OFF relay (if such a thing exhists) or a solid state timer that would be able to power the blower motor for a set timer after the key is turned off.

I need to wire it such that normal power is supplied during normal conditions then when key is off it only supplies power for around 2-4 minutes. Id like to be able to choose something that isn't full battery say 5-8 volts but this is secondary and not anything I'm overly worried about.

I appreciate any input on what is available as im down to the thought of a turbo timer wired directly to the blower motor for accessory/ignition power but i figured I'd ask first, also yes I've told her to turn the ac off but of course a minute of being uncomfortable is just unbearable in this day and age

Once you've wired your delay off relay, remember to clean your system with some Frigi-Fresh! It warns you to "get out of the car immediately" after spraying the product--something that hazardous to your health must be good, right? ;)

Very few vehicles run the blower once they key's been turned off. It's not a KIA thing tho KIA's may be more prone to problems/smell.

I don't suppose there's any hope of training the wife? Turn the AC off (blower still on) a minute or 2 before arriving at her destination?

My RAV4 develops the same problem with musty smells. Turns out the cabin filter gets wet.

And i dont know of any car other car that leaves the blower on after key off. So thats not a kia thing

Thats just asking for trouble.

Maybe the evap drain line is clogged?

I would find the place where the condensate drains out thru the firewall or underbody and poke at that for awhile, possibly into it but not with anything sharp. On many vehicles that drain plugs up after awhile and causes issues.

done that multiple times and the drain is in a good spot nothing ever obstructing it, seems its a design flaw that it doesn't have a good enough angle for draining.

This timer programmed to function #12 will control a relay that will run your blower as you describe.

I needed to watch first several YouTube video before the printed manual made any sense.

I know there were some GM models from my time working for Chevy that had an "afterblow" feature that would run the blower motor for a like 30 seconds on a low setting to just dry the coil. If i remember correctly it was the equinox and maybe 1 or two others but it wasn't a wide spread thing you are correct
