Dewalt 12" miter saw

Got mine all set up and used it a little today. Wasn't doing any fine furniture building, but the stock blade that came with it was fine for buzzing 2x4s, and I can tell it won't be long before I am wondering how I ever built anything without a miter saw. So much quicker and easier than digging out the circular saw. Thanks again OP.

Anyone have luck getting Lowes to pricematch a shelf tag picture or receipt picture? Haven't found a DW175 at local HD, but they have them at Lowes.
I walked out the door of a Lowes with one for $149 today. They used a couple different managers to check it out and approve the purchase, but the picture was all I needed.

They wouldn't match and beat by 10%? I'm going to my local Lowe's tomorrow to see if they will beat by 10%.

Shows $249 on HD.com. Doesn't seem to be stocked at any NJ HDs. Maybe I'll go back to Lowes tomorrow with the pic that tadwolfe posted and try again for a price match.

How do you get your local HD to take the HF coupon? They tell me to get lost when I try.

I take the product to the register, smile and hand them the coupon ask for a price match. It has worked 9 out of 10 times and I have saved $. Same with the Lowes 10% price match, if you do not ask for it most employees will not take the extra effort to give it to you.

The one time the HF coupon did not work at Lowes I did not purchase the saw blades at that store. I went to a near by Lowes and the girl took off the 25% and gave me back my coupon.

I still believe it depends on the employee..:headscrat

I do not do anything special and I have learned it all on GJ.

There's a whole thread on it here in Hot Deals titled something like "Using Harbor Freight 20% coupon at Home Depot." Again, that may not be the exact wording. Generally speaking there must be a HF withing throwing distance of your HD, or at least that's the general concensus, but as with anything YMMV!!!

How do you guys implement HF coupons?
Just give them to the cashier?

I don't think that'd fly to well by me but I've never really tried it.

Edit: I see others have asked this, wow.

I work on the corporate side of retail, we just ended our competitor coupon policy because of similar behavior.

You can never write the coupon policy well enough to exclude all possible situations where you're not getting fleeced, so customers will always demand the world from you, with a reacharound and ****** at the end. After we ended it, we haven't gotten so much thanks from our cashiers ever, because they no longer have to manage pain in the *** customers who try to milk you for every dollar, and can just straight up say, sorry, we don't take your coupons. Having seen both sides, I'd never ask that of someone, but good luck to the penny pinchers. :)

May be able to use as price match at Lowes

I used this picture to show HD's price... and someone else posted a picture of their receipt, so if you have any issues with this price tag, a receipt picture should do the trick.

As a consumer I'm on the other end. Retail ***** I have to agree. With all the scams, coupons, phony promotions and just plain old bait and switch tactics it must be morally hard for employees to keep it toghether. My HD has a HF across the street. HD advertises they price match or takes competitor coupon. Pretty simple. HD sells some of the same China **** HF does. I don't call myself cheap, more like cautious with me $$.
Oh, I forgot the phony markups and the big "sale" discount.

That only miters one way right? Why is it called compound miter saw?

ETA: maybe because it goes to both sides:dunno:

It cuts a miter and bevel, hence a compound saw. This is a single bevel saw because the bevel only goes to one side(and I think a couple degrees go the other side).

A dual bevel can make a bevel cut in both directions. Just about every miter saw I have see can cut the miter in both directions, so that is moot.

Just picked mine up last night. Walked out the door with it from Lowes for $143 and some change. Showed them the picture of the HD price on my phone, they matched and beat it by 10% without batting an eye. Good deal, thanks guys!

Tried getting it at my local Lowe's. Used the picture of the price tag that was posted, but they wouldn't give me that price because they said they have to verify the price with the actual store. The lowest verifiable price in my area was $249 so that's as low as they would go

Go back and have them "Verify"

I bought one last weekend from Lowes for $140.81
They guy had to actually call the H.D. store where that price was posted.
My local H.D. store doesn't carry that model saw, so it must have been a limited time offer.

My Lowes did it. Had to get manager approval and he was on the edge with doing it. Started looking up home depot pricing. Just showed him the 149 price card posted in here and item number.

Sorry, last month when I bought my 2 they were both $149 :dunno:

The Portage store is where I took the picture others have used to get the price match at Lowes.

Yeah, I appreciate the store info. Guess I just waited too long

If anyone else out there finds this price in their store, I'd appreciate a location and/or phone number so that I could price check it

Yeah my store still has at least 4 up high; it's as if they don't know what to do with them, so just ignore them.

They are an online only item. They brought a ton of them to stores for black friday, so they are clearancing them inventory in the stores. That is why they are marked down so much.

I had one of these and took it back, the center turntable sat low, so you couldn't get a consistent square cut with it. Check it with a straightedge to see if yours has the same problem. If there is a way to shim it up, it may not matter, but I didn't have time to mess with it then.
