I have a DeWalt DWM120 portable band saw that I have had for 10-15 years. It is an occasional use tool. A year or two ago I had to replace the tires because they came off in chunks. No biggie, I just ordered a pair of tires, apparently they are somewhat universal, as the set I ordered fits many other brands. I swapped the new tires on, put on a new blade and hung it on its hook. I went to use it yesterday and the tires fell apart within a few minutes of use. I was shocked how poorly the replacements lasted. I suspect the were chinese no name replacements. I ordered a set from a DeWalt supplier, with DeWalt tags, hopefully they will last longer.
Anybody find tires that last any longer?

Disappointingly, my DeWalt brand tires showed up from Dewalt as a no name chinese packaged thing VS an OEM tire. I guess I have no choice but to give it a try. Maybe this is how they get new sales on their band saws!

Maybe that is their OEM tire. They buy them by the truckload, you get them by the twofer.

Might be your AZ weather is hard on the rubber?

Fir sure the weather is hard on rubber, but the originals lasted for over a decade, the cheap chinese less than a year and only one use.

I had the same problem with my Milwaukee Portaband every time I needed to use it the tires were rotted. Tried a few different tires same result. Ended up selling it. Maybe some kind of rubber conditioner but don't know how that would work on a band saw. Also in the Mojave desert.

I bought these bandsaw tires for my Craftsman:

They are made in the USA, and they have an ebay store with tires for many makes and models. I just installed them earlier this month:

Time will tell how they hold up. But they seem nice so far.

I bought my Dewalt Bandsaw in late 2018 and just had to replace a tire about a month ago. That’s about 4 1/2 years of very occasional use. I ordered replacements from Amazon but I don’t think they are OEM. They fit and they work, so far.

I got really excited about this. Unfortunately I can't find any of them made for the porta band saws, as the have a funny square toothed pulleys.

Maybe I need to order a spare set, and keep them in the freezer in an oxygen free container.
