This is what I use for real-time code scanning and logging as I drive. The best part is that you can customize your laptop screen to have the exact same gauges as your car and you can even set up alarms to go off at preset values (I.e. Gauges can beep or change color if they exceed a certain value).

Funny you should mention Autotap. Part of getting older, I have discovered, is that you accumulate more tools than you can remember owning. I actually have an old Autotap that I stopped using years ago since I needed to pull ABS (which mine did not do) codes and bought a hand-held scanner for OBD and ABS. Since the Autotap requred me to drag a laptop to the car just to pull a code or clear a CEL, I stopped using it and stuffed away in the tool graveyard.
Now that you reminded me I have one, I will dig it out and see if it even still works.
