Die Grinder Storage

I welded up a simple wall-mounted right-angle grinder bracket that has worked great for years. However, I've never found a good way to store my die-grinder (straight, not right-angle). I thought about some plate steel with a hole in it big enough to drop the collet end through and have it stand up vertically on the wall, however mine has a rubber hand grip/gasket in that area (see picture below) I'm afraid would take a beating. Though, it would probably be fine if I chamfered the edge of the hole. Has anyone else found a good way to store a straight die grinder up on the wall?

Guys at work decided to hang it off a homemade hook

Thanks for the photo! I hadn't thought about hanging it upside down by the plastic housing, but that's not a bad idea. If you're nearby at some point, I'd love to see a close up photo of the pegs and whatever they are attached to. Mine's corded, so I'll need to factor that in.

one of these racks like I use for my dewalt battery tools would probably work:

All my die grinders are air operated and hang here:

Those are drawer slides with angle bolted onto them with 1/4" ******* welded on and cheap air fittings screwed on to hang all the smaller air tools. I need to do something similar with all my nailers, staplers, brad nailers, etc...

How about the $12 harbor freight cup holder (#58567)?
Could drill a hole in the bottom to let the collet go through...
(24 lb weight capacity)

Great idea for the air tools! Probably not ideal for frequent use (or storage during the work day), but to get them out of the way that's awesome.

It's easy to get them on and off. Just slide out the rail, unsnap and your off, opposite to return when use is done. If I'm working on something that requires an item for a while, it sits on the bench between uses and then goes away after done

How about a plastic bottle, with the bottom cut out, and hang inverted on the wall. Not sure how big your die grinder is, but a 1/2 milk bottle might be a bit big, and a 1L water bottle too small. Leave enough hanging out above to make it easy to grab, and maybe a cutout for ease of dropping it in.

Can also be done near your worksite to drop in like a working holster.

I think this is essentially what I was going to do with some PVC. I'd be afraid the plastic bottle wouldn't hold up over time - especially if it put a screw through it to secure to the wall. The PVC will be thick enough to hold up over time, I think.

What about this concept but redone to hold the grinder collet up? I’d add a slot or cutout on bottom pad/shelf for the cord and make arms to keep it on the holder that sit around the body of the tool. Easy to do in metal or wood.
