Diehard Hand Tools?

Checked store pricing on both the GW 81670 and the DH50025 - both are extended length 13mm wrenches - and the Diehard is priced ~14% higher (retail is 8.79 GW and 9.99 for the DH). It's a small sampling size, but I expect the rest of the line to follow suit - although ViceGrip increased 200+% in just 3 months. No idea what tools or sets are coming down the pipeline, since there is absolutely no cataloging anywhere for the DieHard line.

I'm on the CarQuest (independently owned) side of things, and my understanding was that CQ stores could stay with GW or switch to DH. The corporately owned stores (Advance) did not have an option. Our store opted to stay with GW, although availability of any GearWrench has been pretty iffy for a while.

Price is the same. Its replacing #TQ383. They're both $9.99.

Our store opted to stay with GW, although availability of any GearWrench has been pretty iffy for a while.

I’ve given up on GW for that reason. Gearwrench and NAPA Carlyle seem to have supply chain issues that they cannot and will not fix. I don’t know if it’s because neither brand can do anything about it or that they simply don’t care.

Went in to see if there was any clearance and came across this. Me and my dad both agreed we must have this said rare wrench LOL. Im curious if they will have this feature on their ratcheting wrenches.
AA has updated their website with some of the new label tools. Some things were unexpected, like a digital caliper, 1/4 shank step bits, a roadside tool roll kit, and a magnetic tool tray. Cool to see some new things besides the hardline.

I was told they are replacing them with DieHard branded tools.
Can anyone in-house confirm this?
If so, I wonder if its Sata/GW sourced?
Same stuff just relabeled again maybe?

I know this is an old thread but just picked these up for 138$ the 3 peice regular fkex set was 99$ and the bent handel was 35 $ the are very similar to icon flex ratchets but better in alot of ways think they are onto somthing here if they don't just cop out and gearwrench again highly recommend...... warentee is walk in switch no questions asked just give the your email first then u in the system ... the had a bunch of different stuff too about to go up but it weren't put away yet..... my opinion just as good as icon better than pittsburg no c clips either solid plate that screws into the body and 90 tooth with big Ole pawls

Head isn't 5000bpbs like a huskeyvor somthing but great big single pawl at 90 teeth pawl covered 1/3 if the gear lol wraps around it should be an anvil breaker

Seems like a smart move on their part. I shop at both AutoZone and Advanced on occasional and have bought Duralast tools… but never Teq Correct. Dunno why, I guess they never appealed to me. Diehard is a name people recognize…

All they need to do now is put them in an aisle where they’re accessible. One of the issues I have with Advance (and NAPA) is that their tools are usually hanging behind the counter. If I have to bother the clerk to look at some tools, I’m not. They can keep them.

The company that makes these makes the old duralsy tools no c clips all screwed on faceplate they are just like icon but I think better

Those are nice looking and I love the color combination. An important thing that is sort of a deal breaker for me that I’m curious about is the selector switch correct or is it backwards like the Harbor Freight Pittsburgh ratchets? If it’s backwards then no no for me that drives my OCD up the wall lol.

They had the new diehards our butvnobyeq on clearance I was bummed bought all 3 sizes in flex and the spark plug wrench for 149$ tgeyvare just like icon / snap on style vs the crapoy gearwrench style I was very impressed the wrenches were flank dive look just like snap on hope the keep them a bit everybody ubgotya checkbthem out they are nice no huskey junk plus same Ole u break it walk in and get a new one no questions asked

As has been mentioned, a lot of new tools are available now, hardline, pliers, prybars, shop accessories, screwdrivers, etc.
There has been special interest in the new comfort grip 90t ratchets.
They are made in Taiwan. They have a sealed head design. The flex models have a torx pivot bolt, allowing for adjustment if needed.
They seem to come well oiled from the factory. Which of course was the first thing I replaced.

Looks like great tooth engagement. I also like the screw retained gear cover. I need another ratchet like a hole in the head but, i don't think I can resist the addition of a 1/4 & 3/8 flex head.

At least go play with them at advanced autoparts these are to nice for the pricepoint they will go up in price or be discontinued soon they are exactly what duralast should have evolved into vs that gearwrench junk

There new combo wrenches look similar notvthe same but similar to snap I'm actually a little giddy about this new line of tools I have all the ratchets except the 120 the wood be real smart to bot out some long npn ratchiting double box end wrenches I saw their new impact sockets today and tgeyvwernt came wich disappointed me but were very well made but ya non of those autooartscstores do cling double box wrenches except powertourq and that's onlyva 3 peice

Yes. Its the same as SO. On to the left, off to the right.

That is correct. Triangle Innovative Tools Corp of Taiwan manufactures these. They call them Uni Grip Superman U Joints.
I have my suspicions Matcos are the same OEM but without the grip machined.
