Difference between the two Snap On impact swivel joint?

Hi, I am looking to purchase a impact swivel joint for my 3/8 impact wrench. Can you tell me the difference between the two Snap On models? Thank you.

the retention on the top one is ball, the other is a pin retention

the ball is better because its the welded type. the pin is a collar type.

Thank you. Thought the lock button is for locking the swivel joint.

They're both identical in the joint. One uses a collar to retain the pin, the other is welded. The "locking button" is referring to the pin retention on the male drive end. If you put that pin in line with the hole on a socket it wont come off until you put something in it to push the pin back.

That's odd the 2 1/2" models are the welded style with either pin or ball. I have the pin retention 1/2" it's very well made keep sockets from flying. I use it amost exclusively to make 1/2" drive universal impacts.
