Different Liftmaster remote light?

Finally got around to installing the remote lights for my Liftmaster jackshaft openers. The covers are flimsy and ugly, and the bases not designed for wall mount. (I'm not putting them in my vaulted ceiling which goes from 14' to 20'.)

Anyone here modify the bases or covers to look and work better? I'm not opposed to hanging it vertically from some sort of wall-mounted bracket (gooseneck?), but only if I could get a new shroud.

Thoughts?

I wall mounted mine. You are correct the cover is flimsy and hangs crooked. Oh well.
Use LED bulbs or the cheapo cover melts too!
BTW
And since it is controlled wirelessly, sometimes the light stays on all night!

Just installed my jacks shaft lift last weekend. Looked at the lite and tore it apart (2 screws on the corners and it snaps apart) . I am going to wire it to some other lite fixture or maybe the wall neon. Just basic electric knowledge to customize this system.

I removed the cover and rewired it simply so I can use it with two of the Costco 48" LED lights and fabricated a cover for the remote fixture.

To HELL with it!!! You can use any light fixture you want and in any quantity. :) All you have to do is canablize the electronics out of the fixture and drive good fixtures off of them.

Here is "the original" thread on this with a straightforward solution:

I probably have one of the more complicated setups described because I have three doors, three openers, and need to drive my lights and HVAC equipment off of the units. Pictures of my electronics are in this thread and the OP arrives at a very elegant solution that combines the Liftmaster electronics with regular light switches: (So the lights will turn on with the openers or the light switch.)

There are also some other threads with other accessory electronics to do these things but they aren't coming up for me.

Anyone working with these lights needs this thread: (it should be a sticky...)
