My dad told the builder to put in a gas line AND 30 amp electrical circuit for the dryer.
The 30 amp dryer circuit seems like a waste.
Disconnect or leave?
They've repeatedly spent monies that earmarked for pipeline and transmission line safety and maintenance on other things, including executive bonuses. They lost massive lawsuits after it was shown that their failure to maintain clear areas around the electric transmission lines caused some of California's worst wildfires when windstorms hit in the fall (fire season). They're now raising rates to cover the damage assessments, and the rate payers get screwed again.

Wise Move!I built a house in 2006 and had all gas appliances but I pre wired for and electric range and dryer. It's certainly not hurting anything and the next guy might want an electric dryer.
