do they make a female schrader fitting?

i bought one of those $14.99 fuel pressure testers from harbor freight. the problem is it doesn't have a schrader fitting. i was testing the fuel pressure on my truck, i had to use a valve core tool to remove the schrader valve, then hose clamp a piece of hose onto the schrader valve.

is there a fitting that i can buy that will screw onto a schrader valve that has a barbed fitting on one end so i can hose clamp a piece of 1/4inch hose to it?

i tried a google search but i don't know what its called. i'd like to get one locally, either napa, oreilly or advanced auto.

What I think you are looking for is one of those screw on fittings sometimes used on bicycle pumps. It might be hard to find in a hardware store. Maybe you can cannibalize an old bike frame mount pump? Or check a good bike shop?

Freon adapter appears to be a different size, I just found one and checked...

Those cheapo testers only go to 10 psi, you need to buy the $20 tester for efi, or splurge another $15 and get one that you can trust the readings on from OTC.

The old r12 port is the same size as the standard efi service port, worked with an idiot that hooked the a/c machine to the fuel rail once, and there are those who advocate using a/c gauges to check fuel pressure.

No hose clamps, no mess. It's only $5 more and comes with a ton of fittings. Buy a roll of teflon tape and put 2-3 wraps around the pressure fitting on the engine before putting the tester on. Also tape the fitting where the hose screws into the gauge.

Keep the receipt. First one I got immediately leaked like a sieve (even w/ tape) but the second one has worked like a champ. I've used it on 4 different cars w/ schrader valve fittings w/ zero problems.

You beat me to it. I too remember having the same leakage problem with the first one.

The other fuel pressure tester is limited to 10PSI (this one does 100), and may blow up if you've got fuel injection, so forget the hose clamps and use the right one.

Just because it's a brand name, doesn't mean it doesn't leak. It's still China made. Don't knock a product you've never used.

a -4 37 degree will screw right on. Then you can attach from there
