I moved from Chicago to Sarasota and since I lost my midwest basement, my Florida 3-car garage became my new mancave.

All my sports stuff, die-cast models, etc. are now proudly displayed in the garage and many of my neighbors roll their eyes. Although some joke with me about it, most of them simply view their garage as a big storage space to just let stuff sit. Which is a Florida phenomenon that I will never understand....people park their expensive cars in the driveway exposed to the heat, rain, etc, so they can save/horde/protect $200 lawn furniture and old childrens clothes?! :wtf:

I believe in paying stuff forward. The moment I'm done with it, it's gone! Either given away or sold.

I just finished my second phase of Gladiator wall units, etc. and the next phase will be the installation of a partial Race Deck floor over the existing epoxy floor. That will really freak them out!

Why the RaceDeck over the epoxy?

Having grown up in a house in Oklahoma with a basement (it's kind of necessary for tornado's) I was amazed that people out here in Kalifornia cram all their junk in the garage and use it for useless storage. If any of them had half a brain they would put a hide-away ladder on the ceiling and put a floor in the attic and use that for storage of useless things.

My 3 car garage has one bay where my wife parks her car, one bay for auto parts shelving and toolbox space and the last bay is used for parking and has my lift in it. The back wall is shelving for my "other" hobby and my work bench.

Totally useable and functional NON-storage garage. Well, to be honest, some would claim it is used for "storage" if you consider the shelving for the auto and gun parts, but the majority of the garage is dedicated to storage and maintenance of cars not cheap lawn furniture and old clothes... ;)

Why the RaceDeck over the epoxy?

The epoxy is residential grade epoxy. It looks really nice, however tire heat will pull it. Especially wet/hot tires from the summer Florida storms. It was originally applied by the builder as we bought a builder's model home. I installed some rubber car mats that have helped prevent the epoxy from lifting, however the mats are getting old and looking pretty beat up, plus they trap moisture underneath when you park rain soaked cars on them.

The Race Deck tiles I install will be in a rectangle that primarily covers the parking areas only leaving the epoxy floor showing in other work areas.

Who needs friends? Friends just cause trouble. :lol_hitti

Just think about it. Without friends who would be coming over cryin about their old lady running off? who would be waking you up in the middle of the night to come bail their *** outta jail? Friends are who borrow your stuff and then seem to disappear, making you go hunt them down to get your **** back. See friends just cause problems.

And dont get me started on family, They can be worse than friends.:shocking:

I once had a friend who called me and said he was going fishing, Had an icechest full of beer and needed someone to go with. I was halfway dressed when I woke up.

Stimulate

No, I'm not of that persuasion. I just really hated the whole efficiency thing-it gets taken way too far.

All my neighbors think me and the misses are "certified!"
They do like our style especially when we invite our friends over!
It becomes an instant Car Show and "PARTY" for them.....LOL!
