I have had decent luck with Lisle tools. Some are fantastic, some are awful.
^ You could fairly make that statement about any brand of tools out there - present day or in the past.
Cal-Van was a buy-out line for us - it wasn't something we bought direct - it had to be special-ordered from a local warehouse distributor. I don't recall any issues with any of the stuff (or from Lisle or K-D) other than some of the items were spendy, but that was usually in comparison to schlock lines like Wilmar.
Something else that you have to bear in mind is that those companies do a tremendous amount of outsourcing - a good portion of their product lines (from all three of those I mentioned above) - was made by somebody else and they just put it into their own packaging (that was particularly true of K-D.)

"...would like to see the difference other than the obvious Snap On is the best."
^ Me too, especially after clicking both the links above and seeing photo images of what appears to be the exact same item on both web pages.
But then, as with the snap-ring pliers discussed in another thread, there will always be those who will insist the one with "Snap-on" stamped on the handle is better quality than the exact same item with a different brand name stamped on it.
I believe the term is "dogma".
