BUMP. Lots of new guys on the board, just wanted to bring these great hammers to their attention.

Who else ended up buying these???

I bought a whole set a while back and am loving them. By now I've used almost all of them to one extent or another, they're freaking awesome. Best money I ever spent on hammers, hands down.

I grabbed a bunch before House of Tools went under!

Awesome dead-blows!

The guys I see always repairing the brickwork on Jasper Ave use them too!

House of Tools was Impact's largest account, went bust last spring leaving Impact hanging for about two grand. Will likely never see a dime.
Anyway, we have a good inventory of all sizes of hammers in stock this year.

That *****!

The two House of Tools locations in Edmonton never seemed to have any Impact hammers in stock! (just the same 14 oz hammer for what seemed like forever) - or maybe they were constantly "soldout"?

I had to complete my collection by going to one of the industrial supply houses!

Bump, on the grounds that these hammers look the biz, and I'm looking for decent dead blow hammers, or at least brands to look for... I think they are worth another look for everyone.

[wonders about Canadian shipping to NZ... and then figures that he's sure to be in Canada at some point in the future. :D ]

Absolutely right! I have no regrets with mine at all and I'm still saving the matching mini-sledge.

Well, I've just about sorted the basics (sockets, spanners and screwdrivers), but have nothing in the way of pliers and hammers- these seem like the biz, but yeah, new baby, moving house... I want them, but they can wait a while at least! lol

For the guys who have bought some, how is the pricing? I know I would like 2-3 more deadblows and these might fit the bill!

I'm sure the price has been discussed here already in this thread. If not, just shoot them an email. They are pretty prompt with their email communications.

Darn it, postage to me in NZ is about $85 Canadian :( - guess I'm waiting for a trip over there, or some *really* understanding friends! :bounce:

I'm sure the boss will work something for you if this develops into some sales. He should be sensitive to a poster from Saskatoon, after all he was born at St Pauls hospital, Saskatoon, Sk. back in 64. I know this for sure, I was there.
As for pricing, I believe he's worked something out for Garage Journal posters from the US but so far hasn't been willing to post it on this form. Interested customers should contact Impact directly.

Does this mean I can get a sensitive price quote as I taught my 3rd graders a book call Owls in the Family by Farley Mowat that takes place in Saskatoon?:bounce:

Kidding aside, these seem like a really nice product. Maybe a general price quote for us americans?

After a slow 2009, hammer sales have really picked up in recent months. Most of the sales are going to tool stores in Western Canada. I see the inventory is very low, completely out of 20s, 52s ouncers, 6 and 15 pounders. Back orders are building and production from the Calgary polymer plants is very poor again. Grandpa has been called upon to cut more steel for inserts, geez! Number one son gone to Calgary today to pick up the few hammers they poured over the past two weeks to fill the back orders and beg the plants for more production and to pick up more steel for DBD (grandpa) to cut.
We are back to normal, as it was prior to 2009. I think the recession is over atleast here in Western Canada.

That's good to hear Dead blow dad! I'm biding my time, if I'm lucky a few friends of mine to be flying to Canada, so if they have 5kg or so spare luggage space, I'll be sure to place an order!

Of course, if someone if flying to NZ from Canada, give me a call lol

Resurrecting an old thread, any word on US distributors yet? I did email them for pricing and shipping.

They'll get back to you- they did for me in a day or so. And I might know someone coming back to NZ from Canada, so I **might** be able to get these- woo-hoo!

So how about some thread necromancy -in particular, to others who have picked these up since reading this thread, how are you liking them? My thoughts are a few pages back, including pics, but I'm curious if everyone has liked them as much as I have.

Yes I purchased the whole set....They are great! I didn't think I'd use the smallest one very much but in fact that is the one I use the most! Well worth the money and a great company to deal with.

I also find that I use the smaller one a lot more than I thought I would. I bought it for completeness of the set, but now I'm really glad I sprung for the whole set. Having a choice in size and a size for pretty much any application is really nice.

I dunno about you gatewaysysop, but I never worry about thread resurrection when it comes for threads that don't involve flame suits! :bounce:

I'm still looking to grab these, although my/our finances still have yet to sort themselves out. The last several months feel like I've been putting out a series of fires, although we're getting there... these are one of the tools out there that I'm really looking forward to buying.

If you don't mind me asking, how much does the full set run? And how many hammers does it comprise of? (Does it include the massive sledge?)

Check page 3 for the details and some pricing the last time it was posted. I don't have updated prices since it's been a while. Page 3 of this thread has some pics I took of my 4 piece set + mini sledge. I haven't got the big blue one yet. Been waiting, but that puppy is pricey and Christmas took up all my extra $$$. :(

I have the pricing as at last year, and unfortunately the prices cited on page 3 (post 41) are from the distributor that has gone belly up. Now Deadblowdad, please let me know if these prices are not current (or if I'm not meant to post them!)

14oz - $34.00
20oz - $40.00
36oz - $65.00
52oz - $75.00
6lb - $105.00
10lb - $195.00
12lb - $210.00
15lb - $225.00
17lb - $350.00
34oz - $65.00 (wood worker)

Posts 50 & 60 are Deadblow dad referring to different sizes and shipping methods, in this case Canada post - shipping a C$200 four piece set to NZ = C$90, so all up, $400NZ. Ouch!

dead blow dad, do you have any dealers in Vancouver, BC (or local area)? From a few pages back, it seemed that House of Tools out in Langley had it. But House of Tools has now become KMS, and your hammers are not listed on KMS's catalogue.

Thanks!

'Local' would be in Kelowna. Check out their website for dealer listings.

We recently shipped an order of hammers to: Keman Industrial Technologies, #130 - 19358 - 96th Ave. Surrey, British Columbia.

Happy New Year to all on this form.

The last time that I hit my finger with a cheap dead blow hammer, it hurt just as much as the time that I hit it with the Snap-On dead blow hammer. After that I came to the conclusion that they are both just as good at hitting my finger, and hurting the same.. :lol_hitti

my dad bought those HF dead blow hammer, i had use it for few times hit, it was blown!!! there is every metal balls over the place!! i was upset and told dad to not buy anything from harbor freight as hammers or ratchets!!!
