Does Anyone Make a Stubby Tap Set?

Does anyone make a tap and die set that contains shorter than normal tap? I have to tap a hard to get to hole and my normal taps are just too long to line up perfectly. Thanks for any help in advance.

I make them on occasion, cut off part of it, both ends, tack nut on.

None that I've seen - like was already said, you'll need to modify one to make your own.

I've never seen any in all my years, but the last link that Monkey shows, looks like a short tap. I wouldn't mind having a set myself. I just wonder if they are sold on this sold of the pond?

Thanks for the links guys. I will definitely look into those if I can't come up with a quicker solution.

I wonder why I didn't think of cutting one down. Only problem is I don't weld as of yet. I have a little flux core welder I picked up to learn on, but never got around to trying it out. I guess it'll be a nice way to learn. So just a couple of tacks will do it?

Just grind a square on the cut down shank the same as the original and use a twelve point socket to drive it. If its still not short enough, grind off what's needed from the threaded end.
