Does anyone recognize these two tools?

I got two tools in my recent haul that I'm not sure what they are for. First is a strange-looking Mac tools "socket," in 3/8" drive. It shows the MAC name and part number "SC 36." The second one LOOKS like a special wrench for turning water valves on and off at the street. But I've never seen one that is only 18" like this one. Any ideas?

The Mac SC36 was for special lock nuts on old GM cars.

Similar tool (notched pipe) is used to open and close hydraulic cylinder valve in shop presses, etc.

Nobody asked the obvious question. Even if the wrench is slotted at each end for a different size or as a backup, what turns it?

Wingnuts, petcocks. I have a tractor sediment bowl that the socket would work on but be way overkill.

It has no hex boss or any other mechanism for anything to turn it, just a smooth shaft in between the two slotted ends. By the way, the two slotted ends are rotated a bit from each other.

You rotate it by hand.

Yes, but the gap is only 3/16" wide, and 5/8" deep

Now that I know both ends are the same, I agree with you, especially if both ends have the same slot sizing. Might be something like a Venetian blind, very low torque.

I didn't think the cups looked very strong at the ends.
