I am done with jackstands. Ideally I would like to have a lift. That might be a ways away. Is there any other sort of system that I can use that will give me more and better access to my car's under-body and get me more leverage if I need to use a breaker bar?

Do you have ramps?
Why are you done with jack stands? Is there a chance the ones you are done with aren't awesome?
I have 2 pr of ESCO jack stands and they are awesome. I don't hesitate to get under the car if it's on ramps on one end and up on jack stands on the other.

Why do people keep saying their Rhino Ramps slide? I have a pair and the little rubber foot under the edge prevents mine from sliding. I've used them for 4 years with no problems at all.

Same here. I usually put carpet underneath both ramps just in case though.

I don't have the rubber feet and they don't slide. Go figure.

I bought my dad a set of the 2 piece ( each ramp is 2 piece) Race ramps and they are very cool. Very light weight and are very long so even low cars can climb them without the front air dam making contact. Were a little expensive though.

Those look great. What is the coo? I'm asking because I want a set, and don't pay import duty into Canada if coo is USA.

I can pick up my Malibu and the wifes Explorer with the liftgate on my welding truck:evil:
If I really need undercar clearance I can rig it and do a lift with the crane

Some ramps and some lifts. Enjoy.

Try the next one if you dare...

I have a friend who picked up a drive up teeter-top style ramp. hold the bottom of the tires off the ground about 18in. Got for a few hundred bucks. Keep an eye on CL.

Those DIY wooden ramps look sketch to me.

I use wooden blocks on occasion. Not like shown on that diesel site though. Mine are 5 2x10s screwed together. These are not intended to be driven on, rather you jack up the vehicle and slide these under. Not as adjustable as a jack stand, but no chance of it failing.

Why?

You won't have much for options if you want to do a job where you remove the wheels.

Try these
I drive up front then jack up rear and put second set under rear. It's not the best but it's better then jack stands IMO.
If I have to work on one wheel I support that area with jack stands and remove one ramp. Just think its more stable

How tall are they? can you post pics?

I can't stand lifts. I'm 6'3" and I've never been in a garage that had lifts get up high enough to keep my back from really killing me after about an hour up under a vehicle. Never been in a really swank garage either, but that's beside the point because I built two brick ramps out in my back yard. I have the perfect amount of wiggle room between creeper, myself and my truck to do anything, and stay comfortable doing it. Cheap to boot!

I do pretty much the same thing. Just replaced a transmission and t-case in my Wrangler while it was perched on wooden platforms.
