I asked a girl in line at the store, what the Chinese character tattoo on he back meant.

She said, "I don't know, I was drunk when I got it!"

My sister has chinese character tattoos, wisdom, fortune, peace etc.

My ex-mother in law is chinese, she reads and writes chinese, speaks all 4 dialects. One holiday, she leans over to my sister and tells her: "your tattoos are all spelled correctly". LOL we all laughed pretty good as we thought she would say they were wrong.

When we buy Chinese made tools , often they are labeled with the importers brand or the house brand, but if you get tools with the manufacture's brand, they may take a little more care in their QC. After all, it's their name on it.

It's the name brand, which is Labor (like Miss the Pontiacs said).

劳动 = Labor. Like in “Labor Day”
牌 = Brand

I asked a girl that same question about the symbol on the back of her neck and she said it meant, "You must be this tall to get on this ride!"
