My contractor put outswing doors and I hate them. I wish I had noticed them putting them in, but by the time they were in, I figured I would give them a try.

The snow was a PITA. Having to keep a shovel outside, just to be able to get in sucked. Couldn't open the back door without going around outside to clear the door. And, even after you get it cleared, I had to continually clear the door sill because it would get snow/ice and the door wouldn't close tight.

Even in the rain, the door gets wet when coming in and out. (disclaimer...I don't have an awning yet, so that will eventually be a non-issue)

"industry standard is supposed to be saying "left hinge" or "right hinge" as viewed from the exterior"
How it works:
Put your **** against the **** hinge and which ever way your arm swings to simulate the door swing is the definition of right or left swing.

Inswing door with a storm door on the outside. It's nice to have the security door open and let the breeze and sunlight in
