Hey guys, I've been reading on and off here for awhile and got several ides and now I'm asking for advice or reassurance on my idea.
I am going to be dry-walling the garage and doing shelves. Whatever shelving I get needs to be heavy duty and have doors. So here is my idea, let me know what you think.
3 of the the steel shelving racks from Costco end to end will line my garage wall almost perfectly. They are 76"x24"x77" I was thinking to use these and then put a 32" wide piece of plywood over the top of it that runs down the entire length of the shelving. From the lip that hangs over I will add bypass closet door tracks, then hang regular closet doors from the tracks. Sounds easy enough, almost to easy that's why I'm running it by you guys. Thanks for any help or advice.

then hang regular closet doors from the tracks. < Sounds like a good plan. You must have a 12' + tall ceiling ?

I assume these are the pallet rack type shelves? If so there have been many ideas about how to add doors to them. I think your idea could work but I'd also look into some of the other ideas that have been used.

Post 9 of this thread is the first one I thought of.

That's one looks to be the same rack. That sure is a great idea. I will read further and see if he mentioned how to mount it up. Thanks!
