I am about to change the rear differential fluid on my subaru and it requires a 13mm plug socket. Should I buy the socket or can I get away with using a 1/2" extension? Has anyone damaged these plugs when not using the correct tool?
I had one maul out the inside of the plug in the diff on an old Holden some years ago doing it with a 1/2" extension. On the odd occaission it does go pear shaped, its seriosly frustrating to get the plug out.
