I have a 230V/1P Champion compressor that was working fine until yesterday when I drained the tank, now it won't start. I did drain it to wire in a motor disconnect (I had previously just been using the breaker), but that all looks fine. I have the two hot legs wired to L1 and L2 in the panel on the compressor, just like previously, and the ground wired to the shared lug in that panel. Both legs are getting power (123V each on L1 and L2), and I also see power at the pressure switch. I never heard a hum or a pop or anything to indicate that the motor

EDIT: I found out that I'm not getting 240V at the output of the disconnect for some reason, so that's the most likely culprit and what I'm focusing on for now.

Do you have 240 v between L1&L2?

Draining the tank has nothing to do with the pressure switch kicking on. (unless someone has put a well pump switch on it.)

Go back and check your wiring at teh switch. Confirm that the new switch is turned on. If there are fuses in it then check them. Don't assume the problem is with something you did not change or mess with, Do assume that you screwed something up in what you did touch.

You should be able to at least see if the contacts in the pressure switch are closed or open.

If you have a mag starter I would double check all your wiring & physical connections are good / tight. Also check all the various breakers / fuses. Usually the mag starter has one somewhere there on a leg, and the motor might have a thermal reset.
