Hey Guys,

Just wanted to show our new ‘clubgarage’ witch one of our members named Dream Factory.

Still needs a lot of clearing and cleaning out but hey the space was donated to us so we’re not complaining. It’s actually property of one of our other members who has a shop, it used to be a barn before they started the shop. There used to be supplies for the shop in there but they build a brand new warehouse a couple of years ago and now al the supplies moved to the new warehouse. Only thing left were couple of cars and piles of car parts and spare engines.

We started last saterday with the clean up, first we put all the car parts and spare engines upstairs to create some room to move the cars around because there was an old fiat 500 in there that needed to come out so it could be shipped to be restored.

Here are some pictures, not much I know but the batteries died on me.

Once it’s finnished I know we’ll be there almost all the time (atleast I will be) so we plan on building a bar and seating area. Keeps the girl friends happy to when they come along and all the guys are messing around with the cars :lol_hitti

Once all the cleaning is done (hopefully by the end of next weekdn) we’ll start to replace some of the broke windows, plugging alot of holes in the wales and painting the wales and ceilings white.
Next on the agenda will be electrical work; hanging up fluoresent lights and putting in plenty of outlets.

And then move in al of the equipment and cars so I can finally start working on my cars again.

Cool space!!! I don't think I would paint the ceiling. I've never seen bricks on a ceiling and that just adds to a nostalgic look to it.

That is so cool and very original! I 2nd the idea of a nice seating/bar/tv area. Its easier to spend the whole day wrenching when you can invite the girls to at least be sorta-kinda-near. I wouldn't imagine most would even show up but at least you can say you tried :)

Thx,

It's a japanese car club, most of us own honda's but there are some mitsubishi's and nissan's in the club too.

As for getting the cars around, first of all there are still some cars in there that are going out, the red nissan S14 that you see in the first picture and one of the covered up crx's.

Once they are gone we can start putting some of our own cars in there to and they will be placed in by order of completion and driveability.
For instance my 2000 civic and the nissan S13 that's behind the S14 will go to the back because they need the full works; taking out the engine, interior, body lots of bodywork, etc. That way they are out of the way and can be placed on stands because they don't have to be comming out any time soon.
Them my other project will be in front of those 2 because that car needs to be ready by March next year and will be worked on almost all the time from the day it gets there.

All the other cars going in are not so much big project cars and still have an engine in and be rolling. If we need to we can put them outside for a while an put them back in when we leave.

It's hard with having just one garagedoor but hey, we take what we can get because finding a place to do this is extremly expensive in our area + most of the time they only allow you to store things and not work there.

I'm assuming in Belgium they don't call those style of cars "ricers" like they do here in the States?

Depends on what you define as a "ricer", it's not because we drive japanese cars that we are ricer

But we have them here too that's a fact, there like cockroaches. No matter how many you kill, there'll always be more :scared:

In that last picture you can see the outside of the building. Where the garage door is open that's our space, it's the entire lenght and as wide as the grey door.

Very nice. Love the white EK.

the Fa5 is my first Honda and so far it is a little go cart.

Can't wait to see what you do with your shop area.

Tomorrow we're going back. The batteries for my camera are loading so I'll have plenty of new pics for you guys later this weekend

Got a lot of things done this weekend, yesterday we moved all the leftover steal beams from the warehouse shelving upstairs. Was a monster job concidering there where 3 of us and about 100 beams. And with no room to take them up te stairs we had to walk around the building with them and then drag them up to the 2de floor. Took us about 5 hours :eyecrazy:

Then today we started by talking all the old radial tires and inspecting + cataloging them, you never know if people need an old radial tire for some restoration. All the old and worn ones we tossed out, all the rest we stacked on some pallets.

Next job was taking all the left over stuff that was there and either trowing it away or moving it upstairs with te rest of the stuff we needed to keep.

Then we cut the old tires racks up to get them out, we could not take them out in one piece because they had been welded together on the spot.

Once they were all gone we started moving some cars to the back and tried to figure out were we would put all the other cars we needed to keep there. Felt like playing tetris with cars :headscrat :headscrat

Oké, enough talk, picture time ;)

Since you have GoJaks moving the cars around in such tight quarters won't be as bad.

I know since I have them too and use them to move my Mustang around in one half of my parent's two car garage. Sometimes I put it close to the wall on one side to get room to work! :)

Generally Jap cars in general used to be called Rice grinders and somewhere along the way ricer was picked up to describe modded ones generally by sticking on way more **** than the cars performance level (and most peoples eyes) need.

But his point is valid and pertinent.

They make it pretty easy, only problem is you have to take them off before you push the cars right next to the walls.

Next things on our to do list is move the last of the smaller tire racks to the front so we can move the 2 crx's. And then start plugging some of the holes and replacing some of the broken glass. So we can start painting in a few weeks.

I have an shell that's moving in the 21st of this month.

Thx, we're keeping the mk2 and the 2 polo 1's, they are from the owner of the shop. The mk2 is actually his first car, he's going to restore it when he has time.

@ TRC51, there are still a few around here. I know of 1 with only 15.000 km on it, but the owner (older gentleman) doesn't want to sell it just yet.

That garage is such a cool place. Lots of character.

I can't wait to see you squeeze a lift in there :lol_hitti

No need for a lift there, if we really need to use a lift we just go to the other side of the yard and we can use the shops lift in their garage.

Tomorrow we have a holiday here in Belgium, so we're going to continue working in our garage. Didn't get anything done last weekend because I had to work all weekend.
