drill bit set ?

Over the years I have accumulated a few drill bit sets, bought individual ones I might have needed, etc.. I want to get rid of them and start from scratch.

I Need drill bits for concrete, wood, and metal would be good. I know the concrete ones are specific to the job and am guessing the same for the wood and metal. I am not into any heavy projects, so they won't be under constant use... Woodwork? Not much, just in case. Mostly used around the house, working on the motorcycle or car... etc...

Any recommendation on drill bit sets?

For aluminum and metal, I do Norseman.
135 degree split point.
Dormer USA are also nice, and I have a smattering of USA, Brazil and German bits that will likely last a lifetime if only used at home.


For wood and plastic, almost any 118 degree set will get you by. Heck , even the HF set will be fine. As long as you mark them and ony use for wood or plastic.

Then you get into spade bits, auger bits and forstner bits for wood as well.

But wood and plastic are far easier on drills/drill bits than metal, especially steel.

The alternative to Norseman (which are very good) is Chicago-Latrobe.

LOL. I have a good bit set made in Austria, but just keep buying the Harbor Freight ones when on sale. They work ok and are so inexpensive that it just doesn't justify another way for me.

I have a 29pc set of Norseman 118 degree HSS drill bits from Epstein's, great stuff for wood/metal.

I picked up some Bostitch concrete drill bits (made in Germany) from Amazon, good so far. Same ones are available at Wal-Mart near me.
