Hi GJ
I'm in the middle of restoring a Toolkraft drill press (8in, 1/2HP, model 360A).
Unfortunately, I broke some parts on disassembly, and I'm looking to make or find replacements.
Specifically, there is a sleeve at the top of the press that was stuck to the upper pulley.
- Exterior of the sleeve is 3/4OD and rounded (fixed with set screw to the pulley).
- Interior of the sleeve is 5/8ID, but is fluted with 5 longitudinal channels, which the top of the spindle rides in. I've seen very similar channels on other drill presses.
Wondering if you have any suggestions? I figure I can buy 3/4 OD, 5/8 ID tubing.
Then in theory I could put some set screws through the tubing wall to the spindle grooves, but the trouble is they'd need to be a square fit (takes rotational torque, but needs to be free to slide longitudinally).
