What is a good factory made drill press table with an adjustable fence?

It is for a bench top drill press.

For steel or woodworking?
Whatever I need to do around the house. I figure if I have to drill metal, I can rest the drill press vise against the fence… or just pull the table off if I have to drill metal.

I would like it to bolt to the metal table with wing nuts or something like that… not weird clips.

I have a homemade wood table that bolts through the metal table, but it doesn’t have a fence.

I don't have a picture but I made my own, a chunk of a old desktop, 2 t-slot rails from rockler morticed into the top and a shop made fence. I also used a router with a rabbiting bit to make a cut out for replaceable inserts directly below the chuck.

That Wen looks nice enough, but these are a fun easy build if you're inclined

Make it so it captures your current table, mine just pops on the top, then has a cam lever to lock into place. Put a replaceable insert where most the action will be. Moveable fence w tslot is a bonus

Makes me wonder how I've owned more than a dozen DPs and none of them ever had a fence.

Is it a metal vs woodwork thing? I'm with you, I don't even know how I would use a fence, but I'm purely a metal guy. My drill press won't even spin fast enough to drill a piece of wood!

Yes, woodworking, at least for me.
I never used, or saw a need for fence, for metalwork.

Fence comes in handy for putting multiple holes 1/2 inch in from the edge of something for example. Or a hole at the same location on multiple parts.

fences and metal: in my experience
- great for repetitive batch work
- alternative to clamping for spinny grabby stuff
- nice for reducing arc of shame effect
