Is there any garages on here that have a garage door in the back allowing the car to be driven thru? I don't have access to drive in my back yard and would like to pull my truck back there. I see free garage doors on craigslist all the time and thought this would be a great way to have access to the backyard.

I'm in the process of building and it will be a drive through - 16' X 10' front and 12' X 10' rear. Just starting the build so I have no pics of the garage itself. It is HERE

Yeah, I've seen his but is he the only one? With all the garages on here there has to be more than one I would think...

My 26x26 has a 7x9 door on the front and a 7x16 door on the back. It is super handy if pulling a car in or just having both doors open for a breeze to go thru. I will post pics later today when i take some.

had that on my 24 x 32 with a 10 x 12 on each end, but added on on both ends, only a 10 x 8 on one end and a 7 x 9 on the other end on the side, but the additional 60' of length is nice with a lift on one end and room for 2 projects in the original center.............other end is a machine shop
there is a man door on the other end, does work well for ventilation
I really need another 6 bays to cover the fleet...........maybe some day

I have the regular 16'wide front door and then a 10' wide roll up door like you see on the storage buildings or commercial ap's. This takes up less overhead space. Got it on Craigslist for a couple hundred new. Normally they are about 6 or 7 hundred.

My 22' x 33' garage will have a 14-16' main door at the back alley end and a standard single 7' x 7' double wooden door at the garden (yard) end. One half of this double door will become my man door for access from the house. I have a trailer-tent that I will be storing in the garden but will need to take it through the garage when camping.

No pics yet as not started the build but there are copies of the plans on my "British garage planned" thread in the gallery.

I'm working blind here (at work so no photos) but I think these are the plans fro my garage which show the doors at either end. These are the early plans with the pitched 4m high roof, I'll actually be building a flat roof just 2.5m high.

Pretty straightforward, just add a door on the opposite wall. You probably want to check on the shear requirements, though. Particularly with a smaller garage (you don't give a size), having two parallel sides with large openings can create issues.

X2 on the shear issue.

If you are using roof trusses, why not consult the truss engineer? For a small fee, or no fee, he will show you how to shear through the roof, and across the garage. You will need a gable type roof on both ends, though.

We are in the process of building a pass through - 38 x 60 with 1 - 16 foot door on each of the long sides. We are having some issues with one of the walls wanting to tip outwards now that we have all the trusses us. We aren't done securing the trusses to the walls or putting all the truss spacers in. Will the wall tighten up once everthing is secured and the roof decking is on? (The wall sheathing is on). Thanks in advance for any assistance. (I also posted in the general garage forum, so apologies if this isn't appropriate here).

This is an older, but informative thread.

My house in the older part of Albuquerque had 4' property line setbacks and a one car garage that, with a utility area ran the full length of the left side.

My plan was to move the washer, dryer, and hot water heater to the inside of the house and place a garage door in the back. This would give me access to a larger shop along the back of the lot. This had already been done by several home owners in the neighborhood. One did it so he could access the back yard with the equipment needed to construct an in ground pool. Another used the access to park cars in the back yard. Before I could start my job transferred me to Arkansas. Had I stayed that job was going to happen.
