Gave the TDI a much needed winter bath today and swapped the rear spacers to give it a bit more of an aggressive stance. Decided this was a perfect opportunity to get the real camera out and put aside the iPhone for a few pics.

I'm not sure if its just me, but it feels so unfinished with the big empty space above the tool chest. Its been a challenge waiting to get a TV up there but I'm thinking Boxing day will be my salvation!

I have the same banner/flag.!
Sweet garage, I'd be there 98% of the time.

We had an unseasonably cold week here recently which i'm really not impressed with hahaha. This lead to my first indoor foam party with the .:R32.
I had a blast :D

Thought i would also post up a recent garage i visited at our local hospital lottery home. We buy a ticket every year just for fun and to support a great cause.

Snapped some pics of the garage, which wasn't bad actually. I would make some changes for sure if the keys were given to me but it was an excellent blank slate.

There is a temporary ramp set up through the garage entrance to make the home "accessible" for viewing.

Thanks man. Yea i'm truly happy with the space.

Not worried about cleaning up the walls? Or are you just wiping them down after?

Its deceiving but i pulled the Jetta out and put the .:R in the middle. There is 2.5 meters approx on both sides. Took my time aiming the spray and didn't have any issues.

What foam gun did you get and what soap are you using?

I have a Chemical Guys foam gun and i'm using Chemical Guys Maxi Suds 2 that i actually bought a couple of years ago hahaha.

how many miles/km are on the R?

It has 95,000 miles / 154,000 kms.

ah gotcha, I was like that would be fun to clean up, not to mention the outlet there on the wall.

I just read through BOTH of your threads...Nice work! I previously owned an 09' GTI. Man I loved that car. I now own an E30, low on HP but it's a whole lotta RWD fun. I've got a pic below. Excuse the rake, I'm waiting on the funds for coils. Eventually I'm throwing on some ITBs and a turbo with standalone tuning. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration!

Thanks man. Appreciate you checking out BOTH threads :) That E30 is a sweet project for sure. Been a fan of those since I was a kid. My wife actually pesters me once in a while about getting one as a project car for her. :3gears:

Congrats on the new ride!!

Thanks! Just ordered some new wheels for next season. The parts hoarding season is nearly upon us. :D

Hey Dub, is that foam gun hooked up to a pressure washer or running off the hose?

Just off the hose. I'll likely end up upgrading the gun once this one breaks but for now it works great.

Dub, I'm just about to order a RaceDeck "pad" to direct/contain snow melt to the drain I just added in my side slope garage. Two questions:

1. Can you post a pic of the underside of one of the ramp edge pieces? I'm thinking of sealing the ramp edge pieces to my floor, so snow melt is contained in the pad.

2. Is your entire center section graphite, then accent border in alloy, outside order in black? I'm thinking a center section of just alloy with a graphite border and black ramp edge around the whole pad. When I look at your floor, the center section looks like it's a checkerboard of two colors..but I'm thinking it's just the free flow tile orientation??

Thanks for your help :)

Hi Denwood. I'll snap a pic tonight for you.

And yes you are correct with the colours. Black outside, Alloy frame, and Graphite center.

The FreeFlow tiles do give the allusion of two colours based one the tile design.

Your floor pics made the color choices a lot easier :) I went with as bright as possible, so alloy for the center section, graphite border, and black ramp edge for all four sides. That grid structure on the ramp edges is going to be a challenge. I may install the entire floor over some 60mil EPDM rubber I have set aside for this project.

I'm very interested to see this new project of yours.

I recently finished ready BOTH of your threads in their entirety and I'm using them for inspiration as I begin my garage makeover. Needless to say, great job and thanks for sharing all the great ideas. As a fellow Canadian and a VW guy I really appreciate all the "local" know how and I now have copius notes to refer to as I work on my garage.

It was a lot of fun. I'm looking around the garage now for something, anything to do. I'm running out of space/ideas!
