I started my thread a week ago or something but still a week till we get the keys (rent back with previous owners).. can it be next week already. Haha.

Most likely picking up some used Racedeck of CL if seller accepts my price.

Sweet! I was actually scheduled for ST's next week but had to postpone it.. new suspension vs. garage fixing

Right now my Avant looks like a 4x4 - how do you like the ST's? My biggest fear is that I will scrap on anything.

ST's are great actually; price and quality, especially since they are made by KW. You control the height so scraping is up to you :) I was able to get mine way low enough. My skirts prevent me from going any lower while still being able to get into my driveway. I'll most likely put them on the daily TDI in a couple years as well.

True, my car mods have taken a back seat to my garage mods

It's sad because it has been the same thing here since I bought my house. My neighbour has a nice low Mk5 Golf equiped with a catback and I'm now itching to get one for my 135i  Gotta put your priority straight I guess.

Any more updates coming soon?

Made some solid progress this weekend. Picked up a second Husky upper cabinets and got them up. Also went to pick up a second Shop light and got those up. Installed a few Husky trackwall panels as well, still have a couple that will need to find a home.

I had been debating what colour/style to get for the receptacle covers. Decided to mix it up and go with some stainless steel ones. I think they are complimentary to the rest of the space.

And a couple "artsy" shots, just for fun....

Nice job on both the double and the single. Will you be doing plastic tile floor in the double?

Nice man. I love the looks

Looking good--up next, Dubber's Quad!

HA! Well if they pick my numbers this week, you never know :)

Nice job on both the double and the single. Will you be doing plastic tile floor in the double?

Thank you sir, loving your new space btw. My "current" plan is to get Race Deck Flooring again, although the colour scheme and design haven't been finalized yet.

Nice progress man! Great work as always!

Cheers!

Great job man, you're making me feel bad for not working on my basement much lately.

Haha. That's the purpose of this site, mass motivation.

quick question. I am not sure what is on the side of the house where the sat cable is coming through, but the cable should have just been a coxail fitting. Why not try and line it up within the the wall and make it disappear? just an easy patch job since you were gonna be fixing the walls anyways

The ladder that i hung there hides the cords to my liking. I may change things in the future.

It's coming along quite nicely I must say. And I'm always amazed at how clean your cars are.

Thank you sir, very kind. I do what i can although lately the car cleaning has been a little behind. Now that i have the garage to a good level and i can easily access everything it will be much more enjoyable.

Spent a little bit of time standing around in my garage tonight and trying to visualize where i wanted a few things. Man I'm glad nobody could see me lol...Ended up mounting a few things in the end. Started by finally put up my much needed towel bar.

Before:

After: Chose a similar spot as in my last garage as it was the most handy being close to the door and there is lots of room to maximize all of the hangers. Obviously it was already useful.

The Fire extinguisher found its home, and after a lot of searching found one of my extra stickers.

Before:

After:

And some fun stuff. Decided that this was the perfect spot for these two guys.

I'm going to try and avoid putting anything on this side that i will need to access during the winter season especially. I'll be parking/storing the GLI as close to the wall as possible so it will potentially just ease some frustration down the line :)

EDIT: Wow my phone ***** at taking pics, just so convenient hahaha.

Garage is coming along great. Have you decided on floor color and scheme yet?
Those lights are great, aren't they?

Love these lights! Eventually i would like to add another 2, just not sure when that will actually happen. Mentally i think I've decided (on the floor) but i haven't placed an order yet so that could change.

Took some better quality shots of the space tonight after i cleaned up a bit. I really can't believe how far I've come in the last two weeks. My wife gets back on Friday night and i can't wait to show her.

And this wall is basically my blank slate. I'm hesitant committing anything to it yet lol....

And my little gas line project is now done.

Here's the "before" with half the pipe painted black:

After:

And a quick shot of the REAL work getting done hahaha.

WOW, looks good. I think i can remember back when I saw my garage walls. Oh yeah, it was the day I moved it. LOL

A suggestion
What about running those same cabinet starting above the tall one across to the door?

They might end up being alittle high but the look and storage might be worth it.

Dubber, once again congratulations on the new space. You have done a lot in a little amount of time. I like the little touches you are adding such as the gas line project. I can obviously relate to those sort of details! You must just be basking in the glory all that space offers!

Dub, your space has certainly progressed while your better half was away.

And the best part is, she will definitely believe that you were home every night working on the garage! :)

That would be way too high, and I'm not setting any Guinness height records over here lol... Luckily i have more then enough storage room right now.

Dubber,

The cable running along the roof are you going to put it in the roof or leave it.

Its ugly but will stay as is. My plan is to eventually swap the opener to a Liftmaster 8500 Jackshaft mounted unit.

Thanks Rick, that means a lot. I'm REALLY enjoying being in there now. And it will continue to improve.

Hahaha, thanks Nico, i love the match as well. I'm definitely a rookie in the DSLR world but its amazing the difference they can make. I've got a t3 that i picked up half way through the "build" of my single garage, well worth it.

Looking great man.

Quick comparison since we got possession a few weeks ago.
Before

Now

Can't wait to get more stuff onto the walls, which will include a TV. Already have the cable wired in so i'm halfway there :) Really appreciate all of the positive motivation this site brings out.

dubber, you've done just an awesome job in your garage. Congrats!

You've also successfully made me depressed thinking about how I've made (by comparison) -25% improvement in the 2.5 years I've lived in my garage.

And yes, that is a negative indicating less than no progress... at all.

Can't wait to see how else your space evolves.

Hey Dubber, was thinking of your car and pictures of it last time I was at the airport here. So I came to peek in on your single and find you have doubled up. Well done and congrat's.

I was going to mention that yellow was the marking colour for gas lines in side but see you found out on your own.

I have painted my garage twice since I moved here eight years ago but reading your "dubbers double" have given my ideas for rearranging again.

Good luck and keep up the good work.

I definitely try to keep it in order as a mess or clutter is not something i can really handle.
