That blank slate wall has so much potential. I think your smart to leave it be for a while until the perfect idea pops into your mind. And, where are you thinking for the TV. Just right of the hanging cabinets?

Woah Dubber that before and after! Didn't realize the progress until I saw that. Keep up the good work.

The perspective definitely helps. I love being able to refer back.

Thanks Rick, I'm glad you agree, just letting the ideas percolate a little bit longer. And yea for the TV it will be mounted to the wall above my Husky Tool chest. I'll put in on an articulating mount that can swing out.

I would consider a few 4x8 sheats of slatwall on that bare wall, paint it the wall colour and I think it would look great!

Thanks for the suggestion man.

A couple goodies arrived in the mail yesterday :) These two decals will be some added wall art for the new space. I went with the same 'Sunday Driver' as in my last space, as its also on my GLI, however i went with Black this time. This will go on the right side of the garage just below the window, where the GLI is parked. And this time on the direct opposite side i will put its counterpart.

Nice! Those decals will look good.

Good call on cleaning the house. The wife won't care anything about seeing how much progress you have made on the garage if she see's the house is a mess and all the work she will have to do. Haha. Better get that cleaned up too.

Wow! Great job so far and congrats on the new place. Just wondering how you attached the recycling to the wall?? Certain type of mount or just kind of winged it??

I went with the Mastercraft Maximum Workbench too. I also did the cabinets and roll chest as well, I am extremely happy with the quality of these pieces. Great job so far with the new place!

I used a couple of mounts that i had found at Home Depot actually. Can't find it on their website but i'll snap a pic. It may just be in the canadian stores i'm not sure.

You ****! I am jealous of the stuff you won... Keep up the good work!

Thanks! It was definitely a pleasant surprise for sure.

Yes!! Nice touch :bounce:

Thanks man, wanted something unique and interesting.

Great work, Thumbs up

Cheers!

They are great products no doubt. I especially like them when they go on sale :) But seriously the quality seems exceptional and the look is exactly what i wanted in this space.

Finally decided how i wanted to tackle this side of the garage. Wanted to replicate the decal and husky trackwall with some symmetry with the other side. Also added another layer which will house my bike racks once i take them off the car. I'm thinking i might also add the shelf and metal boxes on this side as well; idea is still brewing....

The top rack will hold these. You can see them up on the top right side of this pic.

And here is the 'Sunday Driver' decal mounted up.

Also deciding where to put this guy...

These pictures really allow one to see the progress you've made in the garage. Looks really good, so clean. And I like the spot you're considering for the garagejournal swag.

Keep up the good work!

Pulled the trigger on the shelf idea. Loving the result! Also took off the bike racks from the car and got them up onto the wall. Really like how this section settled out in the end.

Before: Clean and fresh but empty

After: A little more useful

In my last garage, i had put the recycling boxes up in the mud room/laundry room as i was tight on space and the room was connected to the garage. As for the actual mounts i had used the Husky Trackwall panels for the task in the past. Really wanted to use the extra Trackwalls elsewhere this time.

Here's a pic i snapped this morning. Super cheap little item that fits the bill, snagged these from Home depot.

Hmmmm, now I'm thinking it might be a great idea to double up the Husky trackwall on the GLI side. This will keep the symmetry going and it seems like its a great spot. Perfect to hold the OEM base bars off the TDI.

I think that's a great idea (doubling up the Husky trackwall). So versatile and useful! I really like how the daily driver side turned out. I also like how you've taken the time to get items that match color wise and are all functional.

I gotta say, you've made some real impressive progress on this place in a short time, it's looking great, and those bin hangers are pretty nifty too.

I never did say congrats on that wrench set, good lookin set of tools.

Thanks Eric, I've definitely been super motivated. I guess its because i've been eagerly waiting for a larger garage since i really got into fixing up my last space.

I'm having an electrician (friend of a friend) come in to possibly add a couple or few plugs for me. For some reason the builder opted to not put any plugs in along the wall shared by the inside of the house, stupid move in my mind. Want to get that all sorted before i get the TV and other accessories put in. I don't have any problem with doing some patching afterwords, in my mind it was better this way then holding everything off until that was sorted. There is no way i could of waited lol.... Obviously would have been a different story if all of the walls were still open. Based on where the box is though I'm thinking it should go fairly easily.

I regret not having more outlets installed during construction. My BIL did the electrical work and offered, but I declined. Huge mistake.

Hard to think of everything, and it was likely your first new build. Live and learn. Funny enough my single technically had more plugs then this one, as there was one against the wall shared with the home lol..

Same here... The plans called for 6 outlets which I was very happy with. They wound up installing only 2, since according to the specs the electrical was to meet code minimum. Anything above that was on me. I didn't see this until after the fact, so now I need to run some wires...

Christ, seems like your builder was wearing ear muffs. Between the outlets and the track height you mentioned they weren't very receptive to what the client actually wanted.

Hint:

The ball on the reel extension cord is a stop. Slide it up the cord to keep the cord from retracting so far into the reel you can't reach it.

More of a tip than a hint haha, thanks for suggestion, guess i should of cracked that manual. I'll be fixing that up tonight for sure, thanks again.

Looks so nice and cool!

Where did you buy tiles?

Sweet thanks! I purchased my Race Deck tiles in my previous garage directly from Race Deck. Had them shipped to a border town and went down to pick them up. I'll definitely be doing it that way again as its great dealing directly with the company and there are savings to be had going that route as well.
