The spot on the left of the new box is more central which is a strong candidate. The other thing is that pushing the bench down creates more of a constraint at the actual stairs as the corner sticks out a bit further, if that makes any sense. The problem with putting the compressor on the other side of the workbench is that visually the bench won't be centered under the wall mounted cabinets. Woe is me lol... Lame but stuff I'm thinking about non-the-less. I know i'm way over thinking this no doubt. I'll just have to get the compressor in there (after Christmas) and try both spots.

Thanks man, I'm super excited to start playing with it this weekend and get everything organized again. Its killing me the mess I currently have on my hands.
I "could" put it there but then that would leave me with a larger more awkward thing to find a home for. Think it will just end up being some trial and error.

Get a Dragon to heat your garage, they are the best. Costco has some for $149, 5KW. Ask you buddy to wire it !
So lame but i was super excited to get the garage organized with the new tool chest finally in place. Seems to be a great piece thus far, well worth the price I have no doubt. I still have room to grow which was another thing i was looking for when i chose this box. I'm planning on building a deck this spring so my tool collection will no doubt be expanding during that process, always a fun by product of a project, more tools!
Here's a couple overall pics with the new box in place. It seems to really fit in quite well. The top hatch opens to the level of the Husky Cabinet to the right. Now that I know that height i can start planning the TV to go above both of those guys. I'm really happy that i waited to pull the trigger on the TV because initially i was thinking right above my old box which would have meant the need to move it up much higher.

Sorry for the delay, I actually finally remembered while i was standing in there this weekend looking around with some ideas brewing.
The boxes are from IKEA, they are called Muck. I'm not sure if they would have them still at this point, but knowing Ikea, they may have tweaked the design and now its called something else haha.

Very true. I lucked out, twice. Actually I was just reorganizing their contents this weekend while overhauling the placement off all my tools and project pieces with the new tool chest.
While at home depot today grabbing a couple little things i remembered there had been a few questions about my recycling box hanger. This little piece saves grief and space. The label confirms it is Canadian made so i'm not sure if it would be carried in the US Home Depot stores or not. Anyway for those that were curious, here you go.

I'm interested too! Did you mount to studs or use drywall anchors? Just wondering how much leveraged weight a recycle bin full of newspapers exerts.

If you can hit a stud i definitely recommend it. Those boxes can get pretty heavy. The placement didn't work for me stud wise, so just used the anchors. Its a tiny unit and its meant to use 4 screws to mount, which means it does hold nicely based on the design.
When i bought the frames for my Porsche posters i was left with one extra as they were buy 1 get 1, bonus! Decided to commit the frame to an image that I've been sitting on for a number of years now. Still fits the euro theme nicely! Back in 2005 I had a pretty sweet little Pepper White MINI Cooper. It was only the base model (with a few options) but I really enjoyed that little go cart and look back fondly to that time. Ended up selling it after i met my wife when we decided to amalgamate to one vehicle while living in our first apartment together. That was my first new car, and with minimal "mods" it looked awesome. Luckily my sister still has hers that she got the following year. Fun to drive it once and a while so I also have a selfish motive when i clean it for her. Anyway found a spot that works great for now, may end up moving it in the future but with just a nail there will be minimal residue.

Good man, nice to see someone out your way who speaks french. I was extremely lucky my parents had the foresight to put me in French Immersion as of the 1st grade. Being that i grew up in Alberta, it really seemed like a waste at the time as nobody spoke it. However living in Ottawa now and based on my employment i speak french on a daily basis.

Funny how the older you get, the smarter your parents become eh? I too wound up in French because of my mother. She moved to Quebec for some years while she was in school and had to learn the hard way. Everyone here takes Spanish, so it was good to have conversation with someone when I got home, probably has alot to do with why I retained some of it.

Gave the TDI a much needed winter bath today and swapped the rear spacers to give it a bit more of an aggressive stance. Decided this was a perfect opportunity to get the real camera out and put aside the iPhone for a few pics.
I'm not sure if its just me, but it feels so unfinished with the big empty space above the tool chest. Its been a challenge waiting to get a TV up there but I'm thinking Boxing day will be my salvation!

That's definitely my plan, I love being able to move it around.
I've become a little bit of a spacer *****, nice to be able to get that perfect fit though. Picked up another couple sets over the weekend actually
All my 6 sets are from ECS tuning. Very happy with their product and a side bonus is they are drilled for both 5x100 and 5x112 which covers both of my current rides. I also like the fact that that they are black.

I used to run H&R spacers on my VWs and they always ended up looking terrible since they weren't anodized. Those ECS tuning spacers look great. I'm running Garagelines on my ST and they look really similar.
Its an uphill battle, so i appreciate the comment!
Exactly! Especially with running some of them over the winter. Its bad enough with the rotor hubs. I have some silver paint that i repaint the inner hub when necessary. One of my main issues with open faced wheels is seeing the nastiness inside the brake area. This really forces me to keep it extra clean inside.
