Sweet ride dubber! I've seen them around Arizona here now and then. Looking forward to more posts (AND PICS) about the R32.

I will happily oblige.

I had a feeling it would be an R. If you're gonna keep a MkIV, that's the one to have!

You got it!

I'm disappointed that you didn't get the S3, probably cause I'm just a little bit biased lol. Congrats on the purchase! Those cars are wicked quick. And I don't blame you on not wanting another car payment. Looking forward to seeing more pics!

Thanks man, yea it was a tough "mature" decision I had to make.

Nice addition.

How do you like the VR6? I had heard that the VR6 is not as dependable as the 1.8 turbo, but very tempted to get a VW with one anyway.

This VR6 is a beast. Its actually the same one used in the VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne of that generation. I've also owned a 2.8 VR6 in my old 98 GTI. Found it to be very solid. The 1.8T never let me down either so its hard to day.

Nice Rabbit!

Hahaha, go back and worry about your Q3.

Hell yes! Always wanted a 1st gen. Looks like you found a real gem. Congrats!

Same mentality here. Thanks man.

Since the purchase i've been on the hunt for VW marketing pieces for the car. Loved the ones i've found so far. These are mostly European ads as the North American models don't use "Golf".

We have a 07 GLI that we ended up giving our daughter. I am considering getting a previous generation for fun and commuting. I was only looking at the 1.8 but will add the VR6.

Have fun with the R32.

I was only off on the color. :rocker:

I like it quite a bit. Here is mine, but again, just a lowly 2004 VR6 GTI. I have no AWD and missing .6l.

Thanks. And from my experience they are both solid. Just be picky.

I like this one the best.

Me too!

This has always been one of my favorite VW ads.

Yes sir you hit it right on. Only 4 colours available and i made the decision on this one (Reflex Silver) purely based on the condition and previous owner. And don't feel so bad, your only missing .4 lt ;)

Good catch! .4l and 40hp. I also want a set of Aristos.

Those Long Beaches are my favorite OEM 17" wheel. Had some for a few months. Looks especially good on a grey, although mine was Platinum Grey. Just drop your car a bit and your good to go!

The Aristos are another set of OEM wheels i've always wanted. Such a pain to clean though...

It is normally lower, but not much. Where I live they build small walls instead of speed bumps. Plus, that was during the winter and I hate being a snow plow.

Any tasteful mods planned for the R32?

The theme will be OEM+ for sure for this car so everything will be very subtle. Within a couple days of ownership i had already swapped the antenna to a shorty, put in clear corners, through in 20mm spacers at the back, a couple Porsche engine bay caps (Coolant and Oil) and a black euro washer cap.

Snapped a few more pics last night. I'll have to take some quality pics soon.

Thx! I'm enjoying having the new project for sure.

Nice ride Dubber! If I see you out I'll be sure to swing by for a closer look.

Yes sir.

The previous owner looks to have kept the car in pretty amazing condition. Nice find.

Yea when i started looking for this type of car my selection was extremely limited in Canada, there were 4 on the market. And to be honest this was the only one i really wanted based on its condition and previous owner.

Congratulations dubber on the new car.

Regarding the commercials I always found these VW commercials funny:

Hey, I guess you and I are a pretty big deal. Have you seen this article on allgaragefloors.com?

http://allgaragefloors.com/winter-tips-interlocking-garage-tiles/

I liked this quote "Though this method is a bit extreme, you can see how spring cleaning under interlocking tiles is fairly easy."

Hahaha....I guess I am a bit extreme.

Rick, did they ask you about using your youtube vid's or pics? Or did they ask you dubber?

Cool that they noticed you guys, kind of un-cool to use your info without asking.

I don't mind people posting links to my YouTube videos. Viewers know who created the content that way.

Just starting on your double thread after finishing the single one the other night, already stole the black tubs for storage you had earlier on in there - worked well for me.

That was a great space, I'm sure this will be of equal standard.

Cheers Grumblebum.

I appreciate you taking the time to follow along the journey. Had a blast creating both spaces and using them to their full potentials.

Its honestly unreal. I've had several modified cars with a whole range of aftermarket exhausts put on. This takes the cake!

Spent the weekend spreading out in the garage and doing a thorough inspection, cleaning and some painting of the .:R. Heaven actually lol.....

Cleaned all of the wheel wells, brakes and suspension components as well as full wheel barrels.

Went with black on the grille to break up the silver at the front.

This is probably one of my favorite mods that only costs your time. Stupid safety billboards in your face daily lol... I had done it on the GLI, now just have to tackle the TDI.

Looking clean dubber! I was going to ask what you used on the grille, but I'm pretty sure I see a can of plasti-dip in the background there. I like the black, makes it look a little less cute. ;)

Once i find a local grille in black in nice condition i'll swap it out. I've always been a fan of the black grille on several VW's. I had put an OEM matte grille on the GLI a few years ago. Didn't have to on the new Jetta as they come like that :)

Nice ride and garage dude. I'll assume you are on OVD (local VW forum for those not in Ottawa)? I don't make it onto that forum often but have been following your thread.

That R should be fun when the snow falls.

It would be..... BUT we have an obsession with overloading the winter environment with SALT!

Thanks man, and yes sir I'm on there. My sig link was from my GLI gracing the cover awhile back.
