Nice setup you have here dubber. I followed along with your single build and this one and I like the simplicity of your garages.
And how do you like the husky cabinets (both wall and free standing)? I have been looking into cabinets for my garage for awhile and it's kind of between these and the gladiators. Although I don't know that I could live with the diamond plate doors.

Simple, clean and organized is definitely my theme
Awesome to hear you followed my first thread, thanks! I really like the Husky pieces, especially for the price. I bought each one, one by one as they went on sale. I too have the same issue with the diamond plate on the gladiator pieces.

Wow, finally caught up! Nice R32! Looks great for 150,000km. Great pick and glad to see you are keeping it out of all the salt. Has it ever been winter driven? Doesnt look like it from the wheel wells.
How did you remove those damn stickers from the visors? I have every car in my fleet that needs this. I always thought the glue resin would remain, but I guess not, tell me your secrets.

Had a nice day here, so I got mine all sorted out. How's your's doing?

Saw that, nice work! Haven't had much of a chance this winter thus far. Fortunately we didn't get our first snow fall until after Christmas. Also being away for two weeks in January so far (a week in Florida and a week in Cali) really made this month fly by. I'm due for a cleaning for sure. Its organized, but could be cleaner no doubt :)

Glad to hear you like it, makes sense that you are also a fan. Its a Texas car and was imported by someone i know. No winters in its past, or future (under my ownership).

The trick to get the "safety banners" off the visors is simple. Remove the visors from the car. Lay them flat on a work bench. Source the highest alcohol content you can get for a Rubbing Alcohol. Lay a piece of paper towel over the sticker. And then pour out the rubbing alcohol onto the paper towel until it is soaked. Leave it like that for 30 minutes. When you come back to it you will be shocked. Somehow it pulls it away from the visor and starts to get all curly. You should be able to slowly peel it off at that point. Sometimes it requires a second application. The strange thing about this is that it seems to work better on older cars. I did it on my 04 GLI, looked and it looked amazing. Did it on my 04 R32, also looks amazing. Did it on my 14 Jetta and there is some residue that remained

Thought i would post up a pic as it has been awhile. Can't wait until the spring and the season of hanging out in there all the time.

Great looking shot!

Do you find yourself using the TV much out there? I am debating putting one up in my garage, but I am not too sure how much I would use it. Definitely a nice luxury to have, though.

To be honest, when i'm actually in there, i use it as often as i turn on the lights. I find myself not listening to music anymore as the TV is always on. Its a luxury yes, but i now depend on it. I strongly recommend you go get one.

Thanks!

Looks perfect as always Dubber!
Cheers! Been enjoying your updates. :)

Good to know. I've always been a music guy out in the shop when working, but maybe I'll have to convert haha.

I really enjoy having one out there. I found that a great set up for me was to buy the Apple tv unit.

Inside of the options you can watch many things of course, but I always go to the radio station channels and listen to music through the tv.

Other cool thing is that you can have it go to screensaver mode from your flickr account so I always have cool car photos scrolling on the big screen while the music plays. Makes for a pretty cool ambiance when working.

Dubbed,

Everything is looking clean and well organized (I'd expect nothing less from you). All this talk about this in the garage has me thinking of putting a 40" Sony we have out there. I have directv and with their little wireless receivers, would be easy to put it in the garage and enjoy it. Thanks for the info (dubber and chad).

A wireless receiver would be a god sent. I was really lucky with where the cable came into the house.

LOL... Well said.

Well boy did we ever get a knock out punch yesterday. Setting a record for us at 50 + cm in one day. Snapped this pic of my car as i was leaving work.

Took three hours to shovel the driveway once i got home last night. Although it was insane it was a good opportunity to socialize and help neighbours. My towel drying racks were put to good use drying out all my ski gear that i was wearing to shovel.

Wow, we barely have 30 cm on the ground here.

That's nothing... LOL...

AAaaaand THATS why I live in the south. LOL

It would be fun for a few days, but after that, I would be over it.

Hahaha, yea i totally get that. We have been fortunate this year though. There was barely any snow left on my lawn prior to this dump.

feel free to skip the gym today

 Funny you should say that. I completely had the intention of doing so yesterday, but after the three hour shift out there all i had energy for was opening a Corona :D

Holy **** dubber! Well, after seeing your post I figured the LEAST I could do is snap a picture from my window here at work and share it with you. We don't shovel sun shine here in the Phoenix, AZ area. :)

The least you could do lol... Arizona eh.... Just had a call from my Visa last night, seems someone did a little trip to Wallgreens in your neck of the woods yesterday. Did you do a grocery run on me :lol_hitti

It has been a while. I've been very busy since the last time you checked in here. Thank you sir! I would also love a new R, especially as a Daily.

Nice work! That is an amazing job you have done.

Thanks Tom!

Spent the whole day (10am-6pm) out there yesterday actually. While it was -10 Celsius outside we were busy inside with T-shirts on  Detailed and did a tire swap for a friends ride, prepping it for sale.

Able to take advantage of an empty garage while the .:R is out for elective surgery ;)

Spent a few hours in my favorite room this weekend detailing up the daily driver. One of my favorite things is being able to run around town on a nice dry sunny day in a clean car..... Bliss!

So shiny. I'm jealous because my car hasn't even had a wash in months. I'm so ashamed.

Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

I'm here to motivate you!

yeah you make me feel bad about my GTI and the love it doesn't get anymore.

And you! hahaha. Give that dub some love.

Looking good, Dub. Do you often use your compressor. If yes, for what?

To be honest only a handful of times a year i think. I love having it without a doubt but it doesn't get regular use. Used it a couple weeks ago for a wheel swap on my buddies car. I'll be using it again shortly for the tire swap on the TDI and some test fits on the .:R once i get it back.

I washed both cars yesterday for the first time in probably a month. It has been raining constantly in Vancouver (17 of first 21 days in March) so there wasn't much opportunity and a week or two ago some of the trees decided to start pollinating. First it was the seed pods and then it was this fine green dust that builds up on everything. After 10 years in SoCal I'm amazed at how much organic matter gets on your car here.

Got them cleaned up as best I could but I really need to get some detailing tools including some fine brushes to clean all the rubber and in all the creases. Some of the cars around here look like they're covered in moss and I don't want that to happen to mine! I'll be bugging everyone for detailing tips.

Oh, and hope to get to work on my garage makeover in April!
