Dubber,

after having your flooring for a while, do you notice that the graphite or alloy show more/less dirtiness?

trying to decide on which color will be my main color and which will be the border color... thoughts?

Honestly that's a tough question. I know black shows the most from my experience but i would say its graphite that hides it the best for some reason. Its quite surprising i really rarely clean the floor anymore and it always looks great. A true benefit of the FreeFlow design. I haven't mopped the surface since i did the post winter clean up. And it still looks great with neighbours stopping by or getting the slow drive-by hahaha.

Lately I've been spending a lot of time helping a friend with the creation of his garage. His place is a new custom build and its been fun being an unofficial garage consultant. I guess since i'm always talking about garages, friends and family members have really started to pick my brain. Even my dentist the other day while i was in getting a cleaning :lol_hitti

His garage layout presented an interesting challenge with an awesome bump-out. Originally he had wanted to put all pieces at the back of the wall but after some reasoning he saw my vision of getting a system that would fit perfectly in the little bump-out, and i mean perfectly. They look custom in that spot.

This was my first experience using Pro-slat pieces. I have to say they are excellent quality at a great price point. Purchased through Costco, and at $1800 before tax with delivery included they were a steal for 6 pieces. We did have to get them to move the central vac piping out about a meter to allow the cabinets to fit in properly, but it was worth it.

Floor has been epoxied and we put a Liftmaster 8500 opener in. At this point we only have some wall organization and misc decoration pieces left.

Rick- I'm sure you will be a fan of this garage ;)

Great job dubber.
Helping out a friend is great. With your expertise I'm sure his garage will turn out great.

Thank you sir.

Your friend is in very good hands!

I like to think so too. :)

It's nice to spend someone else's money for a change  looks awesome!

Completely agree. Go to the store and point and or send links. Best way to shop ahhahaha.

My friends won't let me even see their garages...

Yes, I do like the way your buddy rolls. Good looking garage.

;) Thought so.

Since my Husky Trackwall system has been discontinued I grabbed this sweet bundle at Home Depot yesterday. Not bad in my opinion for $79. Plan is to install it in my buddies garage tonight. Looks like a good mix that you can easily add to in the future. This will be my first experience with slatwall systems but for a simplified easy to use system this seems like it will fit the bill.

Also had a chance to clean both of my whips this weekend. Just love carving out some time to spend out there doing something I really enjoy.

Since getting the .:R to its current condition I've been enjoying the heck out of it and driving it everyday. Thought parking it on this side for the first time was appropriate ;)

Made some more progress on his garage last night. First time working with slatwall systems. I have to say it is a solid product and once you get used to the mounting technique, its very easy to use.

The Husky Secure Lock system is actually the Sears Craftsman Versatrack system with the Husky brand name. Sears still sells their Versatrack system in the US, so it may also be available at Sears in Canada if you are looking to expand the system you've installed for your friend or to expand the Husky products you have in your garage. Hope that helps!

Good to know, thanks! Unfortunately after just taking a quick look at sears.ca it seems it has either been discontinued or wasn't ever available here. I'm wondering if they will be launching a new version as they have recently done that with their Husky Cabinets.

Maybe some fellow Canadians may pipe in if they have ever purchased the system at a local Sears store.

Thanks man.

Rick your $60G beast would.....at the moment. Haven't gotten to the engine yet 😉

Haha! I bet you have some awesome mods in mind. I'd like to say I will throw a tune on my car after the warranty expires, but I doubt I do. Would be cool though.

I have always loved your garage. I have been following since your first garage, and have always taken ideas from you. Finally just getting to post on here, but better late then never!

Plus I've always been a VW/Porsche lover!

Really nice garage and I like a lot your r32:thumbup:

Antoine

Hey dubber. Glad you're still plugging away and fine tuning. Looks sharp as always!

Thanks guys, I love being out there. Had a neighbour walk by and comment how much she liked it, joked that i sleep in there, sadly she believed me, had to inform her i was joking hahaha.

We have been a way a lot lately so i haven't had as much time as i had hoped to be out there this summer. Decided to catch up this weekend. Found a tiny rust spot as a result of some chipped paint on the drivers door of the .:R. Its a very tiny spot and hardly visible unless you are crouched down so i wasn't worried about it being perfect, just fixed. Attacked that and then cleaned both whips.

Truly relish the time i get out there.

doesnt VW have a 100,000 mile warranty for corrosion? Not sure how many miles yours has, but I thought they did.

Good thing to catch that while it´s still small, better to do it now then later.
You must have one of the best organized garages i ever seen

Yea that was my thoughts too, attack it asap. And thanks for the kind words, I've been hyper organized my whole life lol..... And last night was garage laundry night actually.

I'm not sure what it is in the US but in Canada its a 12 year perforation rust warranty. They are super picky with it that it must come from inside and not be a result of a chip. They have a two part approval process. There is a rep at the dealer who does certain tests for paint depth ect, to ensure it hasn't already been repainted. And if that stage is approved it is documented and submitted to VW corporate for their say. For my case i had the car preliminarily approved back in November right before i put it in storage for the winter. I got the call in March that it was approved by the corporate office. Had to get it to the dealer right before April 1st or the claim would have been voided. Not sure if you saw one of my previous posts but i was approved and received a brand new tailgate, spoiler and painted all for free! Mine expired this past April so i squeaked in just in time.
