I must have missed that... Bummer man! Luckily we hardly have rusting issues out in Cali.
I was very happy to get near $4,000.00 of free product/labour so i can't complain.

I dont blame you! Is Canada included in the TDI BS that we are dealing with?
You are the first Canadian I know that has actually been successful having rust/corrosion issues rectified by the manufacturer, so congrats to you!![]()

Yup, my friend took his Range Rover (2 years old) to his dealer to have some corrosion looked at under his "extended corrosion warranty" and they told him that it was not covered due to Canada's extreme driving conditions. True story.
Yes sir. Still waiting to hear the official word for Canada. It is unfortunate what this has exposed, but for me personally at the end of the day, i bought this vehicle because i liked it and it used less fuel than the gas counterpart.

Yea, I completely agree. I bought a 2012 Golf TDI brand new(no longer have) and I loved the damn thing. The mileage, the power, mod-ability. I thing its great what they did though, a big middle finger to the man! Cant say I blame them...
Right after the thing happened, I remember an article came out from a British blog/journalist that tested VW, BMW, MB, and Ford and they all did the same thing. Best part is, VW was the cleanest of them all! When we bought my wife's GLK350, I was talking with the finance guy about it and he damn near kicked me out because I told him about the article, and how MB was doing the same illegal stuff.
So are you gonna keep it or have the fix done? Not sure if you guys have that option...

Always envisioned my wife in a GLK350 actuallyHer mom might be getting a GLC shortly.

Had a buddy drop by last night to borrow a part. Feels good having a GLI back at my place, miss that thing. Its funny though, add one VW and it looks like a VW meet on my driveway hahaha.
This is certainly a reminder how various cars that i've owned in the past have lead to the establishment of a friendship and with my new garage space it has often led to summer meets. This was never one of the goals when I was initially creating this space but I definitely appreciate it as a secondary perk.

Completely agree on the garage space and it's unintended draw to other like minded car guys. Have made many new friends because of the garage space and like you, that was not the original intention at all.
Enjoy reading about all of your adventures there and wherever they happen.

Curiosity, I noticed the Honeywell item on your shelf, what exactly it the item?
Thnx,

It's funny a member from Florida would be asking that question! It looks like a space heater to me, but let's see what Dubber says...LOL
haha, love the piddle pad for the lawn mower maintenance!
I'm surprised you have to mow your own lawn there. All the pictures make it look like the type of place that would have an HOA and lawn maintenance included.
VERY nice setup Dub!! With all the detail work you do, I would suggest getting a lift like the MaxJax. I use it all the time and helps to get a real good clean/wax job done - on par with your caliber of cleaning. I use it for my Porsche turbo all the time. keep up the awesome work! Your garage is very inspiring!! Wish mine was as nice.
Very kind of you. I agree regarding the MaxJax, its been on my radar for awhile. Not sure if ever it will actually happen, but it would be sweet!
Do it! With all the wheel swapping and spacer installs you do, it will make your life a whole lot easier. I debated a long time before buying my lift, but I'm already about half way there to re-cooping the cost of the lift based on the savings I've had by not having to pay people to do certain jobs on cars and/or doing work on other people's cars. Plus, it changes the whole vibe of your garage for the better!
Man does the new double look good! I just caught up on your thread. Haven't been on GJ since you still had the single haha.
...I did buy a mk3 and a tiguan in my absence though.![]()
Dub, it looks GREAT!! No wonder they wanted to use your pics.![]()
Not surprising they chose your pic. You have the precision of a Dentist in all of the projects I have seen in this thread!
Thanks Morio, I think you should steal that idea, as it would be easy to create decals with your company logo.![]()
Fun addition to the cleaning tools last night. Obsessed garage wash bucket decals "dialed in"

Is that a soap gun for a regular hose I see there?Had a buddy drop by last night to borrow a part. Feels good having a GLI back at my place, miss that thing. Its funny though, add one VW and it looks like a VW meet on my driveway hahaha.
