I've probably missed it, but what's in the 'bags' that are held up high in those pictures?

I've got a few bags mounted high on the wall so i'll describe each and hope i capture the one you are referencing. The two matching grey with clear front bags are Case Logic wall organizer bags that i actually picked up for $3 each new on discount a few years ago. One i have camping stuff in and the other is full of sports gear. There is also the long black Audi bag (which is actually a Ski bag for the pass through from an A6) that holds my skis and my wife's snow board. Another Thule bag above that holds this.

Its deceiving but this piece is basically water proof and it holds two full size suitcases. Great as when it isn't needed it doesn't take up as much room as a hard box.

Prettiest Jetta I've ever seen.

VW looks great, I really like the wheels.

Thanks guys! It was my first indoor show, fun venue and a unique experience for sure.

NCAudi- Thanks they came with this car from the factory for the special edition 2004.5 Jetta GLI, they are 18" BBS RC wheels. They had a VW cap but i swapped them to the appropriate BBS cap. The was my first mod on the car :)

Here's a crappy cell shot from my garage the night i did the swap.

This one is my favorite pics taken by a buddy last fall.

My bad, i think i need to read more before commenting lol

My little GLI grill emblem finally arrived to complement the grill a little bit.

Another fun project i've been mentally planning has finally come to fruition; a little tv that works great and cost next to nothing. I've got it all connected and I find it surreal to be watching a TV in the garage, very funny, but cool at the same time.

Love the look of this, knowing that its in my garage :)

And I've decided one of these magnets is an absolute necessity with Free Flow tiles. I had a small washer fall off my workstation and through the mesh. Grabbed this and i was back in business within seconds.

My buddy had a 337 with the same wheels. By far my favorite wheels that have ever come on a VW, The shot peened finish on them is so choice.

I agree, i've always loved them since i first saw them. VW actually launched this exact colour and car in Canada at the 2004 Toronto Auto show and i was there that year and snapped some pics. It was a car I really wanted since. Lucky to finally make it happen several years later. It had/has great bones just some personal tweaks to make it OEM +

Taken by me at the show.

As for the finish yes the 337's came with the best version for sure with their shot-peened finish. Unfortunately the GLI's came with a silver painted finish which is slightly different. This is really evident if you look at the close up pic of the wheel. The center cap portion is shared for both cars and has the shot-peened center while the actual wheel is painted silver. I'm planning on having them re-done at some point and i realllllllly want to get them with the shot-peen finish.

That's a great first mod. Never would have thought those wheels were factory, guess that shows my lack of knowledge on the Jettas. Great looking color and I can totally see how that auto show sold you on it.

No worries, there were only a "small" number produced (relative term compared to a regular jetta production numbers). $10,000 in extra OEM options thrown at a VW is a definite win for a fan like myself :)

Kinda cool actually comparing those shots from 2004 to the shots i took this past weekend. Almost 10 yrs old and it looks better in my eyes.
Thx!

Fixed for good.

I want a TV in my garage now.

hmm.gif

Oh no. Look what was started haha.

Gotta say, a TV is one of those things i thought was kinda silly before this project took its own direction. Now i can't imagine not having it. It really substitutes music as its great back-ground and a distraction for a break during a project. I tend to leave it on Spike TV lately.

I could just see myself shooting grinder sparks and debris right into the screen. Or worse; slacking off and watching the Power Block all weekend. :)

That's why you put it up in the corner out of harms way like dubber did.

I'm in the process of gathering supplies and such for laying bamboo on our main floor and this was just another excuse to pick-up something i've been wanting to grab. Its a little Stanley Fat Max 6 gallon tank which also came with a gun. I was really fortunate as i happened to be at the store the day the Stanley rep was there which meant 20% off all Stanley inventory!

Here's a quick pic and a few others since the dslr was out and the garage was empty...... and pretty clean lol..

I can't imagine a day when your garage was ever dirty..........

Has to be the envy of the neighborhood!

Always enjoy seeing what you are up to.

Hahaha, thanks Ody.

Actually it will be a challenge keeping it clean over the next couple weeks as i attempt to lay hardwood for the first time in our main floor.

This was last year when i was putting laminate in our lower floor.

It was funny the other night i was out on my back deck, which faces some neighbours, closing my bbq lid and one of my neighbours asked if i was busy? Well he was curious because he wanted to show my garage to a buddy of his that was over at the time. Was a great moment for me especially since it got him into the head space of tackling his own, which I'm now excited about :)

Dubber, an absolute fabulous single garage you have there......
I hope you don't mind me saying but there is something I can not put together with your super organized place.
I circled it in the picture, but that's only my vision of things organizing.

Now I'm really self-conscious hahaha. Its funny because they were in the garage almost since day 1 and although i have moved their spot they are still in there. They do match in the sense that they are grey but the clear front showing the contents is my issue. I've been contemplating trying to figure out a way to put a "liner" inside the clear which i think would help tremendously. Open to ideas for sure.

I do legitimately see your point; as i raised the "look" of all other items in the space it makes those seem out of place.

I love your "decor".

I still can't decide the cabinets to buy and the color. On the garage i have USAG drawer cabinets that are red and i'll keep that color on the garage. But on the "dirt shop" althought i have decided on LISTA cabintets, i can't decide the layout or the color. To make sense, i should keep the red, but the LISTA red is not the same as the USAG...

Meanwhile i have improved shells and workbench.

But still love your black decor. Let's see if this weekend i can decide.

Dubber,
I've noticed those too about the garage. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to sound critical as your garage is otherwise hyper clean & organized.

Here's my idea: "Flipper" cabinets as used in office cubicles. They're "neater" but they ARE rigid and there's the possibility of banging your head depending on what height you'd place them at...IF you chose to use them:

I'd think there would be plenty around used and on Craigslist.

Here's my idea in action:

You definitely inspired me for those puppies, I just love them. The wall mounted one houses all my towels and a couple basic cleaning products. I'll snap a pic.

Cute little compressor, man that thing is tiny, 6 gal? looks smaller for some reason, I was thinking it looks like it might be running after every few nails though, but 6 gal isn't that small I guess. I just noticed, why did you run two tracks on your garage door? Never seen that before.

I've been in project mode all weekend (and the rest of the week I assume) working on installing my flooring to the whole main level. Really putting that little Stanley Fat Max compressor to good use, along with his buddy the shop vac, or as my friend calls it a little R2 (star wars reference haha). Took a much needed little break Sunday afternoon when the family stopped by to hang out and see the garage for the first time since I've finished. Was nice having everyone in there, to chill with drinks and the TV on haha, especially with my house upside down with everything moved for the flooring.

That little compressor actually works surprising well :) It has a 6 gallon tank, which is a little deceptive from the pic of in up in the shelf. It actually doesn't have to cycle very often at all, I was pleasantly surprised. I couldn't store anything any bigger, nor do i really need it at this stage based on my needs.

As for the door tracks, I'm curious about the advantage or need of those as well. They were installed by the builder when we bought our new build.

Yeah it looks much smaller, then I thought to myself, wait a minute I have a 6 gal Bostitch compressor I use for finish nailing, but the Bostitch seemed bigger when I intially looked at your pic. My 6 gal didn't cycle until after I drove in around 20-25 or so nails while I put in those boxes.
