Thanks you sir for the kind words. And glad you used the towel holder idea. That's the beauty of this site. Sharing those little nuggets of info.

I haven't snapped a pic of mine but i picked up one of these last week. Its a black magnetic paper towel roll holder.

For my fellow Canadians i got mine at Canadian Tire, made by Mastercraft for $14.99!!!

For the Canucks out there, Princess Auto has the paper towel holders for $7.99.....and they go on sale from time to time!!

Ok, so I just went through your ENTIRE thread.. and wow what a journey! :) Great job! Your garage kind of reminds me of a garage a buddy of mine had. He was a VW guy too, that started doing car show's with his car, and then got into detailing and car restoration, which of course turned into a career. His work garage was very useful of space in every corner, and details were NOT skipped. GREAT job on your garage, you are another person from GJ that has inspired me. I'm a little embarrassed to post pics of my mess at this point. But hey, we all have to start somewhere right?

Oh and I see you decided to not put the sticker on the garage door.. ;)

Thanks for taking the time to read through my entire thread. Great comments as well thanks again!

Yes that sticker placement was stressing me. I think since the delivery took so long i had way too much time to over think it. Well that and the spot i had planned to put it in was poo poo'd by wifey so that through me off lol...

I'll mirror what Mike said below, start up a thread, you will see its extremely contagious. There is no chance i would have thought my garage would look the way it does when i started it. The project took on a life of its own and through all the kind words, suggestions and commentary on here, you will really benefit from the motivation. Tons of pics are a necessity and make sure to post before pics. They are just as important i find, but often forgotten.

Kyle, post em up, start you're own thread thats what "before" pictures are man!!

All this talk from Rick and the "Crown Molding King" ;) aka Umberto about garage door track railings reminded me about a little project i wanted to tackle. I wanted to trim the rails down almost a foot on each size but i wasn't sure what tool to use. Some nice GJ suggestions led me to have at er with a good old fashioned hack saw.

Here's a quick cell pic before.

Its much better on the storage bag side as its easier to access things in there.

Hey, that came out nice and clean, you use a hacksaw? Because I'm impressed how straight and clean they look. You must've really taken your time, because if I took a hacksaw to them they would've never looked that good, there's a reason it's called a 'hack' saw. Nice job!

Thanks dude, yes i did it carefully and pretty slow, then did a little polishing of the ends. Its quite the arm workout for sure, at least i had 'Con Air' playing on the TV to give my arm a breather between rounds. Glad i went with the hack saw approach, which i think you suggested.

:beer:Glad it worked out. Nice job on polishing the ends, details matter. If you had used a sawzall you would've never got such a clean cut.

Dubber,
Just a curiosity question: where the tool box has been sitting in the same spot for awhile (and I assume loaded with tools?) has it resulted in little depressions or divots in the Racedeck where the casters rest?

I can chime in on this one. I've never seen divots from heavy items resting atop FreeFlow tiles. I have seen a nick here or there on my tiles, but that's more a result of me moving heavier items around.

Hi Dan,

No actually it isn't noticeable where the wheels sit at all. That box is over 400lbs loaded and i move it to grab my floor jack when needed, and I've never noticed a mark.

Thanks Rick.

1 hour of work killed by going over this thread. Thank you for taking the time to post everything.

Love the honesty, glad you enjoyed!

Cool, but I can see extended rails :lol_hitti

Good eye! Bonus internet points for you!

Yes that was a pic taken pre last nights monumental change hehehe.

Its funny now that i look at it, at that angle the rails would have only been marginally noticeable.

apparently some elderly person tripped and fell, cutting their neck (in a really bad way) on some scaffolding :headscrat

John M saw, ran over and applied pressure to the wound until paramedics arrived.
