Jack prices in South Africa is insane, cheapest Mobi-Jack trolley jack I can get is R3500 ($370), that is cost excluding VAT and shipping.

Sorry guys, I forgot about the international shipping. I lived in Australia for two years so I'm well aware of the pain.

Truth be told, I bet the JEGS ends up being on par with the Michelin even after shipping costs.

Yeah its always a complex amount of factors to weigh. Can't imagine ordering to South Africa, its annoying enough ordering into Canada. It seems like the shipping companies make up our fees as they go with Brokerage, duty and shipping all being fluid variables.

Rick BTW the jack stands you have, are they from Tire Rack? Been looking for a flat footed jack stand, at a reasonable price mind you. Those flat base stands would be perfect for my flooring.

I picked them up whilst strolling the aisles of my local Costco. They are identical to the ones you see on Tirerack.com. Very reasonably priced.

Good to know, thanks Bro. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled. What's the ton rating on them? Will you be able to use them for the S?

Oh definitely, and the fact you haven't got lots of room means lots of ingenious ideas to use that space best. Certainly given me lots of ideas!

Beautiful weather today but yet it was still a sad day. Cleaned up, filled up, snapped some pics and then put it to sleep for the season.

Sleep tight lil' buddy.

Put the Sparco cover on this morning and connected it to the trickle charger, its official; its season is now done. Its funny my wife was wrapping Christmas presents this morning while i was putting my red cover on. I mentioned that I'll have to wait until spring to unwrap mine haha.

Damn that car is clean!!

Thank you sir. It was nice to have a Saturday that cooperated weather wise to get her ready.

Beautiful garage and vw! Always had a soft spot for gli's

Thanks man! Always happy to see a fellow dub fan.

Great overhaul. I always wanted a GTI or R32 but somehow life gets in the way...

Thanks! Funny how these things evolve. Honestly i was just starting the project with paint and maybe an epoxy floor. This site is so chalk full of ideas and inspiration that the vision quickly evolved from there.

I definitely understand the life comment. Almost cried the day i sold my GTI to go back to University. Short term sacrifice for long term success for sure.

Man oh man i wish i had a double garage....... at least lol.... Having my stored car taking up the garage makes any winter cleaning and maintenance a definite chore. Luckily we have had above seasonal temps this week which helped with swapping some wheels and doing some interior cleaning on the driveway.

Don't be a douche, tell us what you getting on Jan 2nd?

LOL! Sorry for the delay. Made a mature decision for the daily commuter. Scooped up a 2014 Jetta TDI in Tornado Red. First red non-gli for the mk6 Jetta's in Canada.

Not my car but the exact specs.

Managed to push some things around to clear enough room for some pics. I'm definitely at capacity at the moment.

Here's my new jack. Love how low it is but damn is it heavy. Pops in law said he almost pulled his back getting it in his car :)

New jack stands. Had to find some a little lower and with a flat base which works better for my floor. The base on my other set would slice right through the tiles, as it does even on the asphalt.

And the new small heater. My space is way too small to add anything substantial; tight on the walls and a very low roof. The colour and size are added benefits but its a pretty solid little unit.

Very nice additions to a great garage! I especially like that floor jack. I might have to look around for one like that.

Just wish the actual jack matched my theme, but you can' win them all haha...

Definitely not cheap for sure but we waited for a sale on it, went from $299 down to $149!!

Yea they are pretty sweet indeed. And not badly priced considering the Michelin ones at Canadian Tire are $39, these priced at $44 and convenient to get are a great value, especially with the quality. I've had to grab two packs as of late lol... I'm sitting on more inventory compared to this time last year when i only had one extra set. I have 3 extra full sets of wheels right now. I'll definitely be purging come spring time.

Picked up a new set of wheels for the GLI this season to try something different. Definitely going to keep the BBS wheels as they belong with the car no matter what its rolling on at the time.

I've been hunting for a while now for a nice overhead cord reel. Originally i had wanted black but I've got enough of an eyesore above contrasting with my low white ceiling. I was very happy to find this one; perfectly matches my two lights that i had added.

Before

After (Garage Bling!)

I installed one diamond plate light. I am going to add 2 more. I also agree with more light. I want to remove as mush shadowing as possible. Similar to a surfboard shaping bay.
I have plenty of space above the ceiling to add the outlets for a permanent solution. But, I only have 3 wall outlets. I think adding a diamond plate outlet is perfect.
