dubber! I have just gone through ALL 28 PAGES of your thread (I have my settings for maximum posts per page), and it took me roughly a week and a half as I browse at work.

Unbelievable freaking job in every sense of the word -- and you are now leaving for hopefully a bigger space.

I gotta tell you that a 2-car was on the absolute top of my list when looking for my first house, but prices in Stamford, CT are SO SO expensive that it just wasn't doable. I am real thrilled for you and your new opportunities!

As I said in my other thread I'll have MANY MANY questions for you. I'm actually currently struggling with power outlets and where to get more power as I only have 1 double outlet...if you have any ideas let me know.

Also I love that you are VW junkie. I am a Euro car guy myself. I actually just got rid of my 2011 M3 coupe for an R8 (pictured in avatar getting a new exhaust).....Like you I couldn't settle on mods, so I just kept adding, adding, and adding....I don't want to jam up your thread with pics so I'll just show you a quick progression:

Stock-ish with wheel spacers/ front lip

Modded with drop, LMs, exhaust, + others

Finished with supercharger, HREs, full catless, Carbon fiber trunk, + many more (650+ hp)

Anyway just wanted to pop over to give respects to a really unbelievable build and share my love of cars with you. Cheers and looking forward to the next step!

I'm honored that you took the time to get through it all, it has definitely grown and become its own entity haha. Love your former ride and obviously i would consider that an awesome step up! I was thinking that was the *** of an R8, thanks for confirming :)

Well i'm EXTREMELY pleased to be able to say that the sale of our place is now firm and we are also now firm with the new place...... Let the packing begin as we take possession of the new place on the 13th..... of this month! We have our place until the 15th so although quick it should be great.

I've been slowly taking things down from my single....sad.....but exciting at the same time.

Congratulations on the new place. Are you leaving anything in the garage for the new owner?

CONGRATS!!! That's awesome!!

Thanks guys. I'm going to be leaving a few things, big one being the floor which was negotiated into the sale. Shelf above the garage door rail, various hooks and the two grey case logic bags mounted on the side wall will all stay. Oh yea and i'm leaving the TV mount, however that little TV will be going into the new Gym room for the treadmill and wifey's fitness DVD's.

Awesome, congrats on the sale and the purchase! Very, very great to have them tie in so closely together time-wise.

Will you just keep updating this thread?

Congrats! Looking forward to seeing the evolution of your next project. Keep us updated if you start a new thread for the double.

Thanks a lot everyone. Its a tight timetable but we organized it so it works perfectly for us. Great to have both places for a few days to ease the move.
Its kinda funny about the thread not sure if i'll just continue this one create a new one with links to the old one. Think it will be worth starting a new one, but keep the old alive to help others struggling with a tight single.

If you do start a new thread, Dubber, would you please capitalize the D's? It has been driving my OCD nuts for years now!

I'll tell you what, even with a super tight closing on our places, this waiting period is getting the best of me. I am however enjoying distracting myself with the planning phase, mentally placing things and figuring out what pieces i will need to acquire to make the vision complete.

As a regular lurker, I'm VERY much looking forward to your new place. You've done an awesome job on your Single, so the Double should be twice as nice!

No pressure!

Thank you sir. Not sure yet how fast that will be...... But, now that i think about it my wife will be gone for two weeks at the end of the month so actually this might work out perfectly!

Actually, I just realized how long these "updates" will take in reality. The progress of construction will be about a year until we move in, then it will be the transformation of details within the garage once we are settled. As much as I would like to think I will be able to get started right away, I have a feeling that we will be spending lots of time with furniture and getting the house situated before I get to devote time to the garage.

...only if you want your pic posted in the Post Office! :lol_hitti

Dubber, congrats on writing the next chapter of your personal Garage Journal! Your preliminary sketch looks great too, btw. Good luck with your move, rest when you can, and update us likewise.

Thanks Marty. I'm sneaking off to a car show today which i'm pretty pumped about, sad part is i wasn't able to use the garage to do my normal pre-show prep as everything is packed up. Definitely one of my favorite things about having my garage set-up is being able to pull out everything i need, with the TV on in the background and enjoy the process. I've missed a couple of shows this season all ready and over the next weekend so its good to get out for a bit. Especially sad about next weeks large show in Toronto, as its the one i had won last year, but it definitely comes down to priorities lol...

hey dubber. Congrats on the new garage! I have always loved the neat, clean and efficient use of space in your single. But, I have a double with lots of tools and equipment. I would love for my double to look like your single, but with all of the extra "****" in my garage, I haven't been able to figure out how to make the same transformation. How you did it with a single still amazes me, because that is even more difficult than a double. I am very excited to see what ideas you come up with for your new double, and maybe it will help me with mine since it will be "to scale". Congratulations again, and post lots of pictures!

Well I closed the garage door for the last time on Friday. Kind of a sad moment, I'm more pissed though that in the rush i forgot to snap a pic of the empty garage :(
