Very nice Corrado, my buddy had a G60 and I almost bought a Canadian one back in the day. Ended up with a 91 GTI instead which I still have.

Love the garage and VW love. Look forward to the new build.

I've always been a fan of them and never actually been in one until a couple years ago. 91 GTI is yet another car i've always admired, nice!

And thanks man, the new project is coming along well, especially since i've only been there for a month as of yesterday.

Very unique, I've never seen another. The OEM look he has done with the car is spot on, hes as H2o right now. Think its called Ice Violet IIRC.

Honestly, if I see a new thread featuring a single, I'm all over it.

Free Flow requires some extra attention now and again in the winter, but I find that if you let the slop dry, you can vacuum most of the debris up with relative ease. You'll need to drag the tiles out at some point (see my thread), but the benefits of it far outweight the mild annoyances. Plus, it just looks ****!

THIS is what convinced me to purchase free flow. Installed for a month and love it. The real test will be winter of course.

Nice seeing this thread get bumped up....... some days i miss it :)

As for the RaceDeck FreeFlow, winter is still manageable, especially with some evasive maneuvers.

Thanks man, nice of you to say. I really enjoyed the process and getting to know this forum at the same time was awesome. Great vibes here that really help motivate and inspire.

I wouldn't listen to a word that bozo says!

I like the race deck free flow. I thought about doing that on mine but went for the diamond instead.

Yea its definitely personal preference and your unique application. I've really enjoyed the flooring for a few years now.

Also great to see this one get bumped back up. Looking back fondly :)

Just wanna bump this thread up, I know it's old, but man I'm impressed with the makeover you gave this garage. I just got done reading through the whole thread and I'm looking forward to your "double" garage thread as well. Also, that GLI is gorgeous; truly one of the nicest Jettas I have ever seen

 Thanks for the bump!

Its nice looking back on this thread. Was truly a great experience that taught me a lot. Thats one of the great things about the creation of these threads, having the whole process documented and sometimes, as was the case with this thread, i didn't know what my end goal looked like. On my double however, with this experience under my belt, i knew exactly how i wanted it to look before actually closing the sale.

I mentioned before I have a new-to-me larger garage so I've been pouring over your single, double and triple threads for pics and small details. Like the three arm, swing out towel bar in the single. I think somewhere in the thread you said you bought it at Ikea(?)

I'm also looking at xcyz's Camaro garage and the recent "Small Organized Garage" by Bikerneil. I've found I am attracted to a consistent color theme between walls, cabinets and possibly floors. I REALLY like Neil's all white with black band top & middle and I admire surgical-suite clean garages but I know I won't be able to maintain that cleanliness/organization so I'm looking at SOME exposed tools/supplies that I will use most often. Any/all input appreciated of course.

Thanks for keeping us up to date on all your hard work. - Dan

One of the things I appreciate the most about these threads is the ability to reminisce when i come back to it.

Dan, you’ve been a great GJ friend for a long time, as such I jumped on your request instantly :) Unfortunately the exact one I had purchased at IKEA is no longer available with the four arms. Their new version which I purchased (kitchen area BTW) has three arms that actually can extend. When we moved into our house I had to find a way of maximizing hanging space in the new laundry closet. Opted to get two of those for the opposite walls.

Snapped a pic of one with the arms out and one as it normally sits pressed up agains the wall.

Brogrund Towel holder

Best of luck with your new space and let me know if you have any other questions and I would be happy to source the answer. Take care!

QUITE the compliment. Thank you so much for the kind words.

Actually, there are a few people here I consider, "friends I haven't met yet" You are certainly one of them. You have such good taste in your garages and accessories but also in your vehicles too.

No problem. I'm, sure I'll find one or something like it. I also have been jonesing for a small ...not sure what it's called - a roller that you used to use in the days of chamois and Terry cloth towels to dry cars. I've always wanted one. Not sure if they're even available anymore.

Thanks! Can't wait to get started on it but I've got a LOT of things to check off my list before I can devote time to it. Spent 3 hours tonight assembling 4 swiveling bar stools from Amazon. Beautiful items but of course they forgot to provide a number of screws so I need to go to Home Depot, but I shouldn't given the quarantine and all. Have a whole storage place still to move and all my garage contents. Even though I purged a lot of stuff I will have to do more to get to the level of organization I want. I've always wanted a beautiful looking garage and honestly, I do quite s bit less in my garage than I did years ago so I shouldn't have any problem identifying what to purge. It's just letting go of the stuff that will be a challenge.

Thanks Dan! Moving certainly has its challenges and the pre-packing stage of purging is often overlooked. My wife and i seem to have moved every five years which is often for most people, and even with that regularity and a streamlined residence, we still had a ton to purge.

Turns out Amazon has a whole bunch of pivoting towel racks but none that extend like yours. Still, there are some cool ones.

Its fun finding items meant for a different application and re purposing it. Especially when they are well priced and look good :)
