Stupid question, but how do you wash your cars indoor with a pressure washer without soaking all of the walls around it? Just be careful, or is there some other trick? I feel like I make a big enough mess outside that I've never tried doing it inside haha.

Be sure to show pics after the detail session. I have no doubt it will be transformed.
Mike

Will do

Not a challenge at all actually. Tons of space and i just pay attention to where i'm aiming. No perimeter surface has been touched with water thus far after 4 washes. The space is 28' x 35' with near 10' ceilings. One car in the middle allows way more than enough room.

Had to snap a pic of the awesomeness with all doors open. Think this was the first time i had all doors open simultaneously since i moved in.

Thanks. It was transformed. Looks like your garage was detailed for the photos, too. Like all the pics. The S 5 is spectacular, and showing your garage with the doors open really accentuates what a nice place you have. Enjoy!

Thanks Mike. The colour is very rewarding when allowed to properly shine!

Thanks Gents. Seems this site certainly hosts several individuals who share another common interest. Posting up some fresh V.A.G pics later today :)

A few more fun pics of clean cars in the new space.

And the first real test of my towel drying area from the recent detailing session. Funny enough finding the perfect home for those extending drying racks was a challenge for me. Settled on this spot which seems to work amazing, as extras can expand onto the hooks above.

Wow! I don't visit the Gallery very often but when I do, I enjoy browsing your threads. Quite a progression from your first posts to today. Fun stuff! Congrats, man!

Over the weekend I finally got around to tackling another item on my mental checklist. :bounce: Fortunate to have three windows in this new space, but that did allow for potential prying eyes, although realistically its doubtful. Applied Gila Privacy Frosted film on all three windows. I had used this option as well in my last space and it was the perfect mix of simplicity, and “security” while still allowing a ton of light in the space. I would certainly recommend this product for its ease of use, ease to source (Home Depot) and the price ($40/box). Two boxes gave me enough to cover all three windows and have extras. May do the window in our powder room as well.

Thanks for the suggestion on the privacy window film. I'll look at my local Home Depot for that product to use in my garage.

I use that on a bathroom windows so you can leave shade open for natural light. I put the film on the lower portion leave upper alone works great.

No problem

Yea that works too. Agreed, if i can avoid shades or curtains that certainly preferred, especially in a bathroom or garage.

For those who have been following my garage journey for awhile will know my Avatar is a shot from my 2004.5 GLI, which was unofficially the 20th anniversary Volkswagen GLI. VW had thrown all the parts they had at the vehicle and it was truly gorgeous, in my eyes at least. Recaro seats, BBS wheels, full body kit, and Audi TT parts. This was my first Garage Queen and was treated very well. No winters or even rain actually lol... Once I decided to actually let it go I sadly enough vetted the next owner and said no to a several potential buyers. The guy who I let it go to continued to carry the torch in the same manner. Well with life changes he too had to let it go, but as was the case with several of my cars we remained friends, and with my sufficient network in the euro community I had tabs on its status. Well that came to an end today sadly.....

And one from dubber’s double

Very thankful for my current position, but its hard to see a car I cared for so much look like that.

Yea it was truly hard to see.

Amazing, that was a beautiful colour. Still remember seeing the launch car for Canada was Platinum Grey. I had to have one and a few years later, thankfully i was able to make it happen.

Sharing a few more glamour shots.

And finally, in the garage that started it all for me... dubber's single

Sorry for your loss Dubber. I have driven by my beloved old e38 740i sitting behind a fence at a shop for years, and watching it decay. I feel your pain.

That's almost worse, brutal. I would have to take a different route hahaha.

Do you know anything about how the accident happened?

Actually spoke with him and he said "I was going through an intersection and I had the green and a car in the opposing traffic decided to make a left through the intersection just as i was driving through. I loved the car so much."

Kinda interesting to note that prior to its final demise/write off, there were five owners and i now know all of them hahaha.

Yeah, but it'd never be the same. It'd be like a resurrected pet from "Pet Seminary" or maybe "Christine" and want to get back at whoever is responsible for the demise of her original beauty!

Sad but it did it's job and protected the occupants. Sad demise but maybe a few others will get built to higher standards with remaining parts.

Hahaha, uber creepy!

Very true. I was mostly happy to simply hear from him how much he loved the car.

Another item off the list! I find keyless entry pads for garage doors an extremely useful solution, especially as a back up to losing a key or the remote not working.

Installed this bad boy today, Chamberlain Wireless Keypad 940EVC-P2
