Nice upgrade :) On the slatwall, HD sells 4x8 sheets of it. I sprayed it with a few coats of clear urethane before installation. It's worked out well as interior cladding. With your space, you could just install 4x8 sheets a few feet off the floor and run the entire perimeter. I've been purchasing shelf brackets (not hooks) in bulk from uline to take care of shelves, tool hangars, hoist arm mounts etc.

I do very much like the doors too :)

Your bill for Free-flow on that space might be a bit bigger than last time. Doing an install like yours, I'd free flow just the parking spots and tile the rest. Free flow basically "inset" into the tile.

Found you while you were still working on your double, went back and read your single thread and am glad to be in on the beginning of your triple thread..

too bad you sold your TDI, but I can understand with the money they were offering for those buybacks.

I am still enjoying my 2015 Sportwagen, just crossed 71k miles since 4/2017 when I bought it new from the Dealer.

May be reaching out to you directly at some point for more input if i go with that direction. Yea it will be another big order, even just adding on hahaha.

I do actually miss the TDI for sure, i had no qualms with it. The replacement however is a vehicle that i'm really loving. After some mods the look is unbelievable and the usefulness of it is hard to compare.

If it were me I would buy some 1/4 inch thick panel board to cover the OSB, it takes so much work to paint it and have it look good in my opinion. I didn’t mind the OSB look but each to their own. I like the slatwall, I got it used on kijiji and all the hooks also used for low $. I need to buy more fir the new place...

Congratulations on the new place.

Thanks, we are both pretty pumped. After some of the places we looked at, this one won't be a sacrifice for my wife to enable a large garage.

I'm appreciating all these suggestions.

This would be great if i was near there for sure. Thanks for the thought.

I have the exact same interior on my 3+ garage. Two coats of a really light grey paint and it looks awesome! The OSB loves to soak up the paint so keep that in mind.

What paint did you use? Oil or latex? Was one coat a primer or not? Spray, roll or brush?

Liftmaster question for all the experts on here.... My new space has two LiftMaster 8500 red/black units on the outside doors. I'll be sourcing one for the middle door but i'm unsure if i should do the 8500 or the 8500 W. Main difference i see beyond the $100 increase, is the wifi capabilities. Anything else of note to help clarify the decision?

thanks!

It was definitely latex which I rolled on. About the same size as your garage (750 sq/ft). Half of it has 10' ceilings, the other half has 12' to accommodate my hoist. I'll dig up what brand I used this weekend. Have a big garage clean-up planned so I'll post a pic after. :)

i would have to double check my model, but i thought all 8500 now can be hooked to wifi. maybe the W the wifi is internal instead of using the bridge (little box you plug into your router).
Unless the chamberlin is the same color, based on your "atttention" to details, I would assume you would stick with the liftmaster.

I have the 8500W and they have built in WiFi and built in battery backup. I honestly don't know about the regular 8500 but love these. With the app you can set thresholds for alerts. Like I have it set so if the door is open longer than 5 minutes it sends me a push notification. It also allows permissions for guest access based on times, or dates, or number of up/downs to I believe.

Again sorry I don't know what you get without the W but the 8500Ws have been great. We have 2 and are about to get 3 more when we do our expansion.

I guess my 8500 is the regular (Non W version) from looking at your picture. I have the wifi gateway attached to my router, so I also have the app and notifications.

Ah ok good to know. And i have the My Q Chamberlain tool on my current garage door which i will likely remove and add to one of the other two doors. Or maybe it isn't even needed.

The auto locks are great too and it looks like both the 8500 and the 8500W come with them. From what I can tell the three major differences are the standard 8500 has no built in battery backup, it is an add on, the W has built in WiFi vs needing the add on box and also the W comes with a slimmer LED remote light as apposed to a big chunky ugly one lol.

I will have for sure 6 possibly 7 when I am done with both phase 2 and 3 of my build process lol.

Oh man, I need those slim led lights!

The standard 8500 lights are huge.

They sit about 2-1/2" off the ceiling, definitely low profile. They put off a decent amount of light too. As long as you have the MyQ app I would guess they would pair up and work just fine..?

Its PPG Speedhide Interior Enamel Latex in Semi-Gloss. I had them tint it light gray. I tried posting pics last night but they didn't take.

Hmm okay. Yes the locks look like a feature that i will definitely want. Inspecting them during our home inspection and i love it.

So awesome! Congrats it looks like a wonderful space and I can’t wait to see all the things you do to it

Now if i could only fill my with the perfect curation of Euros such as yours.

This was interesting to me. I guess it accounts for why most people i know with these openers don't have the light installed. I was considering putting it on a side wall between doors.

Amazing, thanks. Interested to see what the wall looks like. How many applications? Primer or mud prior?

Here is a small 4 litre pail.

2 applications. The speedhide has a built in primer if I recall correctly. My garage needs some serious organizing but here's a few pics to give u an idea. I'll probably get the floor done in the next year or so.

First pic is looking in from the laneway with the front part empty.
Second is with all of my cars parked inside...Figured you'd appreciate my JSW TDI. :)

Great looking space. I saw someone do one of the walls in their garage with Blue Pine from Lowes and I thought it really turned out good. I can't remember who it was, but I keep thinking how great it looked.

Thanks for the info on the paint. I'll add that to my thoughts on what to do with my OSB.

Interesting.....

Still far from a solidified plan but things are brewing. I have a buddy (Jack of all Trades) coming over after the move and we can start to plan out the heater install and hot water.

Oh man, December 3rd can't get here fast enough can it?

Take in mind the electrical outlets or anything else you want to move before you start painting, or adding panels. Would be pretty easy to move or add something before you start.

Great space! Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Throwing my 2 cents in. We just started painting our interior. OSB was the most economical way for us to do it and we definately did NOT want to be doing a ton of paint work. We went with Zinsser Cover Stain Primer. 2 Coats and we are very happy with the look.

Looks great! I was in the exact same boat. And if you really need to redo some wiring or add anything, all you have to do is unscrew the OSB and re-install when done
